Re: Tim Sills
No, I would like him to miss it.
Goal difference may count at the end of the season!!
Lot of respect for Sills, and grateful for THAT goal at Wembley, in the same way that I will always remember THAT cross by Wayno - however Sills now plays for the opposition and, whilst I will always wish him well I hope it is not against us!!

I'd be pleased for him, yes.
Not only was he good for us as a player but he seems a ruddy decent chap and family man. An all round good egg.

i'd be more than happy to give the guy a good reception, he's a ex-gull who will always be welcome as far as i'm concerned, but i don't really want to see him score against us. i'm guessing he probably will score anyway - it's just the way it goes !!!!
my boy was mascot for the bury game last season (and particularly wanted to meet the Sills), but Sills was suspended for that one. we saw him in the bar before the game, so my lad went over and asked him to sign his shirt, and we had a chat with him, and he is definitely a top fella.
yes, THAT wembley goal will forever be in the memory, and i wish him all the best, but i always want to see us keep a clean sheet, no matter who the opposition is.

Yes...yellowsmiffy wrote:Ok so we're 7-0 up at Aldershot, and it's stoppage time. Aldershot get a deserved free kick from 30 yards out. Ref blows the whistle, ball is laid off to the winger who whips in a delightful teasing cross. All of a sudden you see Sillsy marauding forward, he bursts into the box, leaps like a salmon alongside Branston, and gets his forehead cleanly on the ball as he uses every muscle in his neck to power the ball towards the top corner. The Keeper can't do anything but watch.....
...Do you want it to go in?
But only if it's an OG and makes it 8-0 TUFC.

Paul, will you and the drum be in attendance at the Shots?

Will I be at the only game I look forward to every year because it is the only challenge (as a drummer) I get all year from the Aldershot Percussion?
SG I think we need to educate these youngsters into what Aldershot really means to the Back Step Army!!!!
For those who are going, please come and join us in the stand behind the goal and not down by the corner flag, we out sung the Shots last year by a long shot (lol I did that without trying) let's do it even better this year and sing to roof off that stand!!!!!

I remembered you saying, Paul, that you we're going to one match this year, but not bringing the drum. It was that information I was after. Maybe JB can lend you some support if you start to get over-run?

Overrun Matt? By whom?
If you're referring to the Shots drummers then I suggest you listen to him kicking their arses last season

The perfect clip with which to indoctrinate my son. After a few minutes of that if his first words are not yellow army I will have failed him.
Seriously though, it makes me realise what I'm missing out on.
Hope you all give Sillsy a good cheer.
*edited because I got the dates confuzzled between the Stevenage and Aldershot games. My bad.

Come now David, do you honestly believe I would suggest in seriousness that JB could assist Paul in the drum war?
Matt.
