New Owners
Jon Gittens made a rather a BIG connection with his elbow to the face of West Ham's star signing (Florin Raducioiu) that year in a pre-season friendly at Plainmoor. Needless to say Harry was a little pi$$ed off and thus West Ham have never returned South West for a start of season tour!

Yes, you are correct. I'm confusing my 60-odd year old ex-managers who look permanently miserable.CP Gull wrote: Not that I can recall. There was one going back a couple of months though about Harry Redknapp.

For those that have watched taken 1, the words he was translating from Albanian traffickers. Good luck in finding his daughter. Well here's to the new owners

I don't know why everyone is so surprised at the losses. Considering all the factors I'm surprised it's not more.and don't forget the last few years have seen works at the training ground, around plainmoor, dodgy managers and over paid players, so if someone comes in knowing how to run a sports club I'd expect a few more years of loses around the same to put the club where she belongs and to have a decent football mantra right the way through from administration to youth, inspirations, ladies and mens football.

yeah, it was a horrific challenge. Red card all day long, and if it had been in-season Gittens would have been banned for quite a while. I don't think I've seen anything as nasty (live) before or since. Raducioiu suffered a fractured cheekbone and didn't play until October, as I recall.Richinns wrote:Jon Gittens made a rather a BIG connection with his elbow to the face of West Ham's star signing (Florin Raducioiu) that year in a pre-season friendly at Plainmoor. Redknapp went nuts. It was quite funny.
I'd actually gone to that game with my father (the only Torquay game we ever went to together) - he was a West Ham fan, and I'd adopted them in a sort of solidarity - but after that game I became a lot more engaged with TUFC.

No Cup runs, crowds of 1400.
Now set the budget and make the necessary cuts for next season.

Life is like TUFC. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory.

Possibly Kevgull, but not necessarily the case, Barnet have just won the league win an average gate of 1,811 their lowest gate was 1,074, location was not the reason why they won the league, location doesn't pay the wages of players like Akinde, they do not have mega rich owners either, what they do have is a fair amount of alternative revenue streams meaning they do not have rely on attendances.
If our new owners make the same connection, which may even mean having to move from plainmoor, as our corporate income I would imagine is peanuts compared to Barnet's , and make the obvious connection between having a successful team on the pitch to attendance figures we'll be ok, if they don't like our current ownership, wave the white flag now.

The key point about Torquay's location is that because we're so far away, it can often cost more money to encourage a player to move down. We've also seen a few cases where people have moved down and then had to leave because they're "homesick" (i don't really buy that 100% as an excuse, but I'm sure it can affect some players).
That means that our already limited budget gets stretched further. They key -as you said - is creating other streams of revenue that can feed back into the club. As I recall, that's something that we've always been pretty useless at. It is to be hoped that new owners have a plan in place to increase non-football revenue, as well as to enhance the sponsorship opportunities we have.
