The Torquay Fans Forum Durrell Berry Crowdfunding appeal

Post by PlainmoorRoar »

Thought this deserved a thread of its own - Admins can you sticky?

The complaint that the current board are not innovating etc has been raised a lot this season but this doesn't mean us as TUFC fans can't be!

This article was released today http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30781055 And as it stands Durrell Berry is open to offers and could move at anytime! He has made an instant impact at RB and has been a vast improvement on previous players in that position.

I've started a crowdfunder with the aim that if it made the difference the money will fund the contract of Durrell Berry to the end of the season.

I'll prepare to make contact with the club and sort it all out but it will be an all or nothing attempt (so it doesn't get get confusing). Money pledged is held by crowdfunding and then sent on if we reach the target, if not, it is refunded.

Simple as that, you can donate via the link below, If this takes off, im sure more 'rewards' can be added for higher donations.

Have you contacted the club? Do they definitely want to sign him? Is £2000 the difference between signing him and not?

Had any response for the club at all Roar, what's the club reaction, any ideas of what the genuine target to reach is ? Best of luck with this.

I sent an email off today and a message to Andy C, had work most of today, fingers crossed for a reply!

Even getting it on the clubs twitter would be immense with 15,000 followers!!

I thought ahead if its a yes too, crowdfunder.co.uk allows the addition of rewards for pledging a certain amount, pledging £25 rewards you a signed picture of Berry or pledging £100 gets you a free advert on the big screen for a game. These are only ideas but something that can greatly increase donations.

I will await for an official response from the club before I sign up , but much better idea than the club asking us to donate towards the up keeping of the training ground

I'm keen to donate but likewise I'm waiting to see the appeal has official backing.
Let's have some proactivity from the club, this is tied up with my plea that the Chairman should come out with a New Year message to fans about the club's plans for 2015.

The secret to success in any Crowdfunding campaign is getting the appeal publicised far and wide. Its absolutely essential to utilise social media and for everyone receiving the message to cascade it to anyone they think might support the campaign.Official support and publicity from the club is essential and if they do back it,publicity via all their social and other media channels will greatly increase the chances of reaching the target.
Like others I will contribute if we get a positive response from the club.

Exactly!

Thats 4 people on here alone who will back it with the clubs support, on the issue of that, stand by and cross your fingers!
