Craig and Yeoman Back

Post by arcadia »

Think one or both are worth a shout either on the bench or start but not both. I think Saturday if we had a fit Benyon it might have been the difference between the sides and scored whilst we were on top. Craig needs a chance to play in the middle with better players. It will be interesting what team Chris picks but I expect it to be the one that played last Tuesday. Yeoman and Craig on the bench both have something to prove to the new manager. :keepie:

It's worked putting Ashley as sub. with Cameron injured it would make sence to put Craig sub on Saturday in case we need crosses driven in late in the game. Stevens did not produce on Tuesday someone needs to fill Camerons place. :)

Do we know how long Cameron is out for? He's been a real highlight recently.

Iread he's got a hamstring and that means he'll be out on Saturday so Chapell,Craig and Stevens are the wide choices. :-/

Craig isn't a wide choice. Might as well stick Poke out there.

Not necessarily! Billy Bodin is also back in contention and indeed played and scored in a behind closed doors friendly with Plymouth on Wednesday, which ended 1-1 I believe. If Cameron doesn't make it, which seems likely, I think there is a reasonable chance that Bodin will go straight back in,subject to him feeling no after effects from Wednesday that is.

Good point. Pokey is probably a bit quicker and has more chance of winning the ball in a tackle......

Yes Matt it would be a good idea to put Poke out there, you must be going in----. Craig would be a good option if we needed to press last ten minutes as he does not need to beat a player to get the ball into the box he can deliver from any angle. I won't say like Beckham as you'll think I'm insane again but he can do this and his delivery from corners is the best in the club, when was the last time Downes scored from a corner. :keepie: :keepie: :keepie:

Is sarcasm not available on your planet?

We've got crossers. Crossing isn't a problem. Goodwin, Tongue, O'Connor if he plays, Nico if he really concentrates, all capable of a cross. What we miss in Cameron is the ability to go past people, to get them back peddling. I'm not sure I can think of anyone less likely to do that than Nathan Craig (and I don't just mean people at Torquay).

Newport bring a makeshift defence. Go with the same side as against Bury, save for inserting Bodin for Cameron. I can't believe that Newport could be as poor as Bury (although anything's possible), so we need to avoid being oveerun in midfield. If we must, we can introduce Harding into the centre and sacrifice Stockley to give us more in the middle.

Matt, it seems only you and I and perhaps just a handful of others here appreciate sarcasm. Because to do so does require a modicum of intelligence and, on a bad day, it may not be fully recognised even by those with a few marbles. It is, after all, the most surreptitious form of wit. In colloquial discourse it's an enjoyable tool to use, which I endeavour to do whenever the opportunity arises, but even then I risk incurring the wrath of the likes of SuperNickyWroe.. :)

It shows you don't really understand what I was saying. The last part of the game players are tired but you would not know about that. When you need to change your tactics Craig would be handy for the last ten to get the ball into the box especially with Showunmi if he's still on.
Oh I'll see you tomorrow! :keepie:

You'll need a bigger rod than that (which I suspect you've heard before, in a very different context).
