Hello all,
I am the creator of a Manchester United website called Stretford End Arising. URL: http://www.stretfordendarising.com/
The website runs a monthly loan feature. Here is an example: http://www.stretfordendarising.com/yout ... ld-united/
Following Rudge's loan move to Torquay United would a forum member like to participate in the feature? Please contact me via a private message if you would like to discuss further.
A link to forum.torquayfans.com/ will be included in the published article.
Cheers,
Andrew

Seems like a good idea Andrew. Not too sure about the name of your website though; sounds too much like 'stretfordarsesending'.. :~D Unfortunately my age and poor health prevent me from participating, but I'm sure some more energetic members of our forum will contribute to this. Easy enough to do and will be interesting to both sets of supporters. I've always felt a connection to Man U ever since Lee Sharpe joined them and followed his career with interest.. So good luck with this. Come on you Torquay fans, get in there..

Could be more on the way from Man U-who said Greavsie didn't have the contacts?

I sincerely hope that if Rudge plays it is Mansell who is shifted down the pecking order. Both Labadie (c) and Lathrope were excellent on Saturday; Lathrope has been since he returned; and both are better than Mansell. Best way for Greavsie to impress Man Utd is for the lad to get plenty of game time, so I would expect this to happen.
As loyal servants, I would like to see Mansell and Nico both given decent deals elsewhere, as I would be surprised if they featured in League 2 plans for Hargreaves next season. Both could do a lot worse than FGR - near to Manse's roots and a place Nico flourished previously.

I would say that both Labadie and Lathrope are undroppable after the Pompey game. Poor old Scott will have to accept that Mansell's days are numbered

Both Mansell and Nicholson may well emulate Chris Hargreaves' career and go on playing into their late thirties, and help some lucky club or two get promotion into the Football League.Southampton Gull wrote:I would say that both Labadie and Lathrope are undroppable after the Pompey game. I keep wondering why are some people so keen on getting Manse away from the team? To some extent I can see why some people want him out of the starting 11, but why not offering him a new contract? He is still just 30 and with him great fitness he is bound to have at least 4-5 years of football in him. How much wrong has he done? How many footballers in our team have done better than him in the last 2 seasons? I am not saying he has been brilliant but if you look at our team in the last 2 years there have been so many bad performers and our captain is one of the last ones who should be getting that sort of comments. Unlike the many football league travellers we have had throughout the years, Manse actually loves the clubs and he is ready to do anything for the Torquay cause. I personally find this as very important and I think he should be offered a new contract. A bit offtopic for this thread, but people started discussing that before I did.
For me, it's presently as simple as Labadie and Lathrope putting in performances far exceeding anything I have seen from Mansell this season or last. It would be criminal for either Lathrope or Labadie to be dropped to assist a Mansell return to the starting eleven.

As my mate Lenny once sang - "it ain't over till it's over"
If we're signing the likes of Danny, Manse has nothing to worry about.
Now, leave me alone to ponder the inevitable.

Emotional and sentimental drivel. His performances alone are the reason for my position, nothing to do with anything else. Manse is way behind the others in ability, creativity and current form. No brainer.............

Rightly or wrongly - I suspect Manse will be back in the team next game regardless. Was only dropped because he was carrying a back injury.

Whatever he may lack in ability, creativity and current form, he makes up for with enthusiasm, energy, determination and commitment. And perhaps, in our current position in League Two at this stage of the season, that is what is needed from Mansell more than anything else. Not for nothing was he made the team captain, and by more than one manager..

I am a huge Mansell fan - some would say obsessed, but there is no denying that our midfield was immense on Saturday. Yes, we need enthusiasm. Yes, we need energy, We need determination. We need commitment. I saw ALL of that, AS WELL AS ability and creativity on Saturday from those in midfield.Gullscorer wrote:Whatever he may lack in ability, creativity and current form, he makes up for with enthusiasm, energy, determination and commitment. I hate to say it, but the days of Manse being one of the first on the team sheet every match are now behind us. I'm gutted, but no one player is better than the team and it is Torquay United that I want to see successful - if that means dropping Manse then, alas, so be it.
