Pub Details for Portsmouth

Post by Southampton Gull »

We've received this email so I thought I'd put it here for those wanting decent food and drink before the game.

Hi all. Just wanted to let your fans travelling to Portsmouth this Saturday know about a great CAMRA pub located 5 minutes walk from Fratton Park. Its the Artillery Arms in Hester Road.
The pub does a great selection of Real Ales as well as the usual lagers and ciders etc. They have Sky Sports and BT Sports as well and there is a large garden if the weather is good..... but don't count on it !!
Pompey fans enjoy a prematch get together here and also enjoy amazing home made, hand made, burgers. The boys also make some really nice Chilli Burgers.... with loads of fresh Chilli's in them. And if you want it ring stinging hot then just ask. Also Hotdogs and Chillidogs (with Mexican Chilli and Chilli Cheese etc).
Pub opens at 12 and away fans are always welcome, as are children. Check out the Good Pub Guide for more details on location etc and hopefully we'll see some of you this Saturday. Its a cracking atmosphere and a great way to start your day at Fratton Park.
The pub does have parking but its limited so if you need to reserve parking for minibuses you'll need to contact Pete Watson the Landlord of the Artillery Arms.
Safe Trip.
Dave

A recommendation from someone with grammar as poor as that is no recommendation at all. Pass.

Grumpy Matt this evening! Probably as disappointed as I am that the game's been called off; however, it's still nice to get a heads-up where to get grub on Saturday, grammatically-sound or not. Thanks for re-posting SG.

I got gazumped in the 'bored and fishing for idiots' game by that bloke 'Somerset' who started some uber-Troll thread about pitches.

Matt.

I'm sure this pub is lovely, by the way, but I'm looking for somewhere that will welcome my Stanley knife and Stone Island jacket.
