Bristows Bench
Feel sure I've asked this before ages ago but I've forgot so if anyone who normally sits here can help.
I am wanting to go in the bench for the game v Bury or Accy and want to know where is the best place to sit, are the seats comfy, what are the facilities like for toilets/refreshments etc and how do I get round to that side of the ground? Do I go past the club reception in the opposite direction of Boots? Is the atmosphere pretty numbing or is it ok?
Cheers all.
Going to book my ticket online so I thought I'd get some feedback before deciding whether to choose the bench over the pop.

Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Back few rows have an excellent view. Entrance is in the corner by the school.AustrianAndyGull wrote:Feel sure I've asked this before ages ago but I've forgot so if anyone who normally sits here can help.

The turn styles to the bench are next to reception. You queue there for both the Family Stand and The Bench. For my infrequent visits to the Grandstand I have plopped myself directly above our dugout so I can keep a keen eye on the sort of things that our manager and assistants are instructing the players, or interacting with officials etc. The views are excellent so you can't really go wrong wherever you choose to book your seat. The seat is just your bog-standard league two fare, leg room is good, don't book the front row though as it is used as a walkway.
Facilities have been a bit of an oversight in my opinion, being as they are shared with the original Family stand ones. In key games I would imagine the queues are long and tiresome, but against the likes of Bury and Accy you should be ok. I am not sure how vigilant the Stewards are about sitting in your designated seat, in the JPT I sat where I pleased and didn't get any hassle. Perhaps keep your ticket with you though, and whilst I can not confirm this is the case, in case you need to prove that you have purchased a ticket for the bench and not the Family Stand.
Be patient on the way out too, as once again the exits are shared with the Family Stand, and the players tunnel extended towards the pitch sometimes hinders those looking for a hasty exit.
All in all I enjoy my rare forays onto the other side of the ground, but the Popside is my home and I can't see any migration being longer than a one-off basis.

E block is the area behind the dugout Andy. It's very popular with season ticket holders (inc me!), so you will have to sit in designated seat probably . Not all STHs turn up for every game, so you might be able to move. The Bench is very exposed to the elements, so higher up is dryer !You def need to show your ticket to the stewards to get access.Atmosphere generally isn't great, we join in with a few COYYs, & a couple of choruses of YA. Only one exit so you can't rush anywhere; you pass the catering stand & loos on the way in from the turnstiles. AK will turn towards us occasionally & exchange glances. Views of Dartmoor are amazing !

Cheers all.
I'm going in the pop, can't be doing with bloody queuing. Sounds bad.
Love to see the Dartmoor views though.

Went to see the U16 schools cup final back in the summer at Plainmoor, sat in the Bench for the first time, went up to the back row and yes the views are good, personally not retiring over there any tine soon though..

To be honest I prefer standing up so i'll go for the pop. I just wanted to see a game from the bench to se what the view is like from a different aspect but from accounts it sounds a bit of a mare all round when I can just breeze into the pop and breeze out again. Mind made up. Pop. If I'm ever in the area for a JPT game or a cup tie at home to someone like Skegness Town then I might consider it then. :~D

I used to think exactly the same Andy, but now use the bench on most matchdays. The only queuing you'll do is on exit at the end of the game. Block E is great, I'm about 2/3 of the way up and the view is fanstastic. I would thoroughly recommend sitting their for views and comfort.
