Pearce a better player lb for lb than Eunan or Bobby. What a load of shit. As for breaking the transfer record for Ball, Sam, you're insane. I know, I know it's all about opinions, but you might as well sign Lily Savage.

Pearce is only 63?
Wouldn't read too much into FIFA ratings - they had Nico as 91/100 for jumping last year and Karl Baker rated higher than Yeoman...Yellow4life wrote:
Ball is only a 61 rating, Pearce is our highest EVER fifa rating at 67! (A low Championship quality if you are not aware of ratings)
I still had Ball, Pearce and Cruise on the books for first Premier League season. Ball got up to 70 and Pearce 74.

Oh dear, boys with toys. Is this the version of "football" that some of the usual suspects on this forum write about? I assume it is, which explains everything. Father Dougal syndrome again, confusing dreams with reality.Rjc70 wrote: It is ratings on FIFA 14 game, stefano. It's not real.
Just a bit of fun, although maybe some take it a bit seriously, I don't know.
Nice, thats it, we should base our whole transfer and selection policy on football manager..as said a bit fun, although it's clear some do take it seriously .

When a young loan player Ashley Barnes had half a dozen games for us and was getting a slating on the various fans forums I posted that I could see something there and thought he would be playing Championship level before very long. I did of course get slated for that, but Barnes has been playing Championship level for 3 seasons now. He wasn't that brilliant with us (but mind you he made his debut the same day as Mo - remember him? ), but there was something there. I think that Callum Ball has that 'something'. I believe he will play at Championship level in the future, but before that I would like to see him launch his career forward by starting to put it together for us.
I know that would make Terry / Brucie, Hector, Wivel, and myself very happy .... or would that really be too much to ask!
Great point Stefano and why I backtracked a bit on my opinion of Ball.
From what I have seen he looks league 2 level for a side who play more direct than us, anything above that and I can't see it. That is not to say he won't return to Derby and start banging in Championship goals though. Like Ashley Barnes who you gave as an example, he could be pretty poor here and excel elsewhere at a higher level. I don't dispute that, what I do dispute is his current effectiveness and potency whilst playing for us. It isn't there and although he may do well in the future, we need him to do well now otherwise there is no point in having him. What i'm trying to say is that he may be a really good player and much better than league 2 but if we don't see that side of him then it is pretty pointless him being here.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.
Gone back to Derby to free up money for a defender apparently

Not often I disagree with Stef (he's far too clever for me), but I think the opposite. He can have all the 'something' he likes, but his physical limitations will always hold him back from being a tier 2 player.

Had to happen, having 5 strikers and 0 defenders was suicidal. Slightly disappointed to see him go but KniLOLOL had no choice with this one, bet he does an Ashley Barnes, looks mediocre/reasonable for us then does really well somewhere else.
Funny you say that. This is exactly what Everton did a couple of years ago. They got the boys from Sports Interactive, the makers of Football manager (who happen to be Evertonians) in to work with them. They utilise the database technology from Football Manager to keep track of the transfer market.forevertufc wrote:Nice, thats it, we should base our whole transfer and selection policy on football manager..as said a bit fun, although it's clear some do take it seriously .![]()
