A clearance from Hutchings goes to Cameron who scores with a fantastic curling shot which the goalie could only get a hand to 4-1

4-1 final score
Wouldn't get too carried away with that scoreline - half of the opposition were playing for local amateur sides in the north devon league last year.

UURRGGHH !!!They did what they had to do.
A couple of promising displays from the kids. I don't think anybody is going to get carried away but for flip sake every comment you make is always negative.
Getting boring and tiresome now.

About as boring as you are actually. You probably don't know anything about the opposition but certain players who played in the Ifracombe team will be turning out for village teams on saturday.
That would be about equivalent to maybe three or four leagues lower than western league.
It doesn't matter as it is quite a ridiculous fixture and competition in the first place but really the mind boggles that we were actually losing at one stage.

Only 0-1 'cause a young kid made a big howler, but I still take your point Brucie as ilfracombe were awful.
Thought the right back Purcell had a great game and showed some great maturity as well as technical skill at times. Hutchings was also very comfortable, although I would worry if he wasn't against that lot.
Sullivan and Cameron did well but you can see where they're lacking; physicality in sullivans case and final ball in Cameron's.
Most disappointing performance for me was Craig, who looks fine with the ball at his feet but who's total lack of awareness and in-game nous was truly worrying at times. Looks obvious to me why he's not even making our bench; lathrope a much more rounded midfielder.
Cruise did well but had to be repeatedly told the same thing by knill over and over again- why he isn't playing perhaps, as he again lacks awareness? Anyway, I'm not sure he is the answer for the Nicholson critics as he's no quicker than Nicho (the main criticism).

Tough to judge, I'd imagine, against what sounds like horrifically appalling opposition. In game nous is probably so wildly different when playing against such erratic players. It's a bit like trying to play poker against complete beginners. They go around, chucking chips into the pot out of position and with nothing hands and this makes them incredibly hard to place, because nothing they do makes sense. I could be wrong, of course, and Craig and others could have been rubbish all night, but having seen them take the piss at times out of a decent Plymouth side, one does wonder if this might be a fair summary.
Point of order, I didn't make the game, but only because the rest of my day overran, not because I didn't want to go. As it turned out, I didn't arrive home until 5 minutes before kickoff.
Matt.

I don't think anybody is getting carried away, yes they were terrible and they only had a couple of shots in the game. They only scored because a youth team player gifted them 12 yards out. But as said you can only beat what's in front of you and there was some good performances especially from our younger players
