Playing for the shirt . . . . . .

Post by Trojan 67 »

. . . . . . as opposed to playing for the livelihood. As it happens they are not opposed to each other, they are one together.

With too many squad fillers, real competition for the shirt hasn't happened for two seasons. Last season saw fatigue/loss of form catch up with the same starting XI called a squad. This season has seen a leaderless near similar XI suffer from poor form and tactics.

Now well paid (some might even say overpaid) livelihoods are at stake, fingers are being pulled out/removed from orifices in an attempt to stop the sh*t hitting the fan. Oh the irony. Too late to put the fingers back in, the enemas should have been fired with rocket force during the January windows. Where ? Right across the board, both literally and metaphorically.

For some, it is already too late, their credibility and livelihood at TUFC are gone.

Who is seen as an asset/liability to TUFC will vary from observer to observer depending upon position and perception.

I like the way you've listed the "assets/liabilities".

I'm in total agreement with the highlighted bits.

Assets

Torquayfans.com
Plainmoor when it's rockin.

Liabilities

The official site
Radio devon match commentary
Local tv's bias towards all things argyle or city, and seeming ignorance of yellow. (Ie, tv footage of the former two, and a side note, almost begrudgingly acknowledging the (orquay result.)
The rain
The local police and how in the past they have ruined potentially great games by insisting on early kick offs, correct me if I'm wrong but didn't we kick off at 11am once?
