I'm more relaxed about the squad now - ok we have a few young 'uns who could do with a month of steak dinners, but on the whole, we have every position covered. If Manse was out for 2 or 3 games, i wouldn't squeak at seeing Lathrope's name on the team sheet.

Re: Middle class football chants.

Ok then. You rather grubby, domiciled slightly above Watford on the road map, typical children of today's England.

How's that? <sigh>...

Money no object...

Just watched a short video of Messi signing boots in London, and it got me wondering...if you could sign one player to play a season for us, from anywhere in the world, money no problem, would fit into any formation, look good in yellow and/or black...who would it be?

Lionel Messi for me. (please Mr Baker!!)

Re: Catering

I tend to just get a coffee when I go in so can't comment on the food options, however would say that on Saturday there appeared to only be one section of the catering bit open - don't know if it was the same at half time?

This is another area where kids could be catered for further too, imo. On the rare occasion that my boys used to be forced to Plainmoor, at least there were 'kids' bags of sweets available. These days it seems to be king sized bars or family bags, or nothing. Have the days of Panda Pops and a 10p bag of sweeties gone forever?

I'd love to see Kee/Zebs up front together, but then that would leave us a little lightweight on the wing. Worth a try though, especially while Benyon not fit. Or Gritts and Zeb worked well for the first few minutes until Zebs dropped back on Saturday.

No, no, no, on the contrary, I feel I have failed miserably as a parent. I just meant, from a selfish perspective, that I am able to afford to go to more games than I could if I was bringing the chaps with me. I would happily sacrifice some matches to see my lil cherubs in a Torquay shirt...<sniffs and reaches for the choklit smilie>

Re: Attendances

I have always taken the view that for an afternoon's entertainment, £16 is not a lot to fork out (although after yesterday, pfft..)- often it's the 'football accessories' that bump up the cost, the pies/pints/programmes etc. I am fortunate though that neither of the boys ever really wanted to come to football, as that would have put attending games completely out of my reach. As has already been suggested above, maybe the Club could look at family tickets and/or kids' special pricing days, although it's tricky when trying to be fair to season ticket holders.
No easy answer. If we don't get the crowds in during decent weather when we're top of the league, what will attract them?
