Sorry if this comes across as a bit snippy, but...
I use cash 90% of the time, which is sensible in this day and age.
I don't drink, so not fussed. Personally, when I did enjoy a bit of cider, I never felt the need to drink during the game. Only after.
I would rather the consortium spent money on the squad before worrying about seating in the Gulls Nest.
I'm encouraged to see the Club engaging with fans in this way, whether or not the responses do make a difference.

That's really kind of you. I have many happy memories of Saturdays in Watford as a young(er) girl Your good wishes and donation are appreciated.Watford Gull sort of wrote: ↑23 Mar 2024, 17:28 Not sure if this is the right place for this. As you can tell Torquay United are not my team but have always had a soft spot for them and for some unknown reason I’ve seen them at Burnley in the play offs, Wolves in the Leyland DAF, Colchester when it was members only as well as Wembley and of course Plainmoor.
It filled me with great sadness that the club was forced in to administration. I’ve no idea if the owner is to blame or it’s a culmination of lots of things.
I’ve donated via the Torquay website and just wanted to wish all of you the best and hopefully better times are round the corner
And yes, it was the owners fault.

It's on the Tonbridge thread, skillsy. Page 8. I don't know how to quote it, but it's thereSkillsy wrote: ↑20 Mar 2024, 12:18 I saw a post from someone going to the England v Brazil game on Saturday, but I can't find it now. They said they were going to take a Torquay banner and hope it gets mentioned on commentary.
I plan to contact Channel Four and ask them to mention it on the day, can someone tell me who posted the message and where I can find it on the forum please.
Skillsy.

As much as I detest the Mail, that was a good article. I realise that they can't put anything too detrimental about the ownership, but it was written in such a way that people will be sympathetic to the Club.budegull1954 wrote: ↑01 Mar 2024, 09:29 Very good article in the Mail Online (not usually noted for its incisive journalism!):

Fragrance international-Tell the wife
Bless ya, Colorado. I know you mean well, but, speaking as a girl who is indeed very interested in beauty products, that's the biggest load of poop.Colorado wrote: ↑23 Feb 2024, 17:36 I’m guessing the majority of you have wives and girlfriends. I’d also hazard I guess that at least a few of them might be interested in beauty products it might be in Torquay United’s best interests for y’all to start talking to your spouses, sisters, girlfriends, grandma’s, and anyone else interested that fragrance international has some interest in Torquay United.
Who knows? Maybe they’ll be encouraging you to go watch the match maybe they might want to come with you
When their website, it’s a sudden uptick from curious turkey residents, That might be something that would spur their interest.
Never in a million years would I be tempted to go to a sporting event just because a company that sold beauty products was involved.
I feel, respectfully, that you are clutching at straws. Or mascara wands.

Whatever he says, he will be ripped apart. Personally, I found the last interview really uncomfortable viewing, he looks and sounds broken. By all accounts, yesterday's performance was much improved and going by the predictions on here, took many by surprise.
Nobody knows for sure what's going on with GJ, we're all pretty sure what's going on with CO. It bothers me seeing the amount of toxicity being levelled at the players and management when the root problem is clear.
Wasting my breath, I know. How many wanted Mike Bateson gone for his lack of ambition, how many wish we were still a L2 club with no ambition?

Okay, so equally a genuine question, I'd appreciate no grouchy replies, but I have wondered for some time who the anti-GJ crew would like to see take the job? Realistically. Because I can't see anyone wishing to take on the role at the moment. An owner who wants to sell the Club for housing, an area of the country that is not particularly accessible or affluent, a fan base that is seemingly fed up at best - who would want to risk uprooting (perhaps) and risking a current or future reputation?SWgull wrote: ↑28 Jan 2024, 13:12 Genuine question asked in the spirit of forums are designed for all opinions. I am keen to hear from any pro Johnson supporters on why he is still the man for the job. I think he should have gone months ago but respect the fact others may think differently. If so, why?.
I am aware of GJ's shortcomings, but we are still in the play off positions, we still have players due to return (possibly) so I would stick with him. Not a popular answer, I know, but just who is going to be our saviour?
Skillsy, ever fancied management?

Thanks for posting the link Dave, I hadn't seen the article. To be honest, I don't see anything wrong with what he said. Too many haters wanting to jump on anything he says, then equally when he doesn't speak.
I can't comment on the team's performance as I haven't been to a match for so long, and I know everyone is entitled to differing opinions, but I wish people would get behind the team. Abuse and a toxic atmosphere is not going to help improve any players performance.

Looking at Brentford and Newcastle, their injury lists have been horrendous this season; Thomas Frank and Eddie Howe are both highly respected managers so I wouldn't imagine the injuries are an excuse.Vick wrote: ↑07 Jan 2024, 01:11 I've often wondered about clubs that have many injured players who are out for a long time. Are the players all really so injured they can't play or is it that they don't want to play for their manager and an "injury" is a good excuse not to play for him?
I am talking generally here and not just about the players at TQ1.
In my opinion, the majority of professional players, no matter what League they play in, would find a long term injury frustrating and would want to return as soon as possible.

Well....after lots of comments about not getting in any loans, now we've got one and there's lots of comments about where we've got one from.
There are very few professional players who are role models these days. Perhaps he has learned from his previous errors. Who remembers Chris Zebroski?
How about giving this fella a chance before slating him.
