Re: MOTM - Cheltenham

dont how anyone can leave stanley out of top five.excellent going forward, tracked back tirelessly and with lathrope, who also impressed, totally commanded the midfield.shooting wasnt great but i will never complain about anyone trying to get a strike on goal

Play-offs are not impossible if we don't have too many slip-ups along the way, though I will be happy to hover where we are now, it's just nice not to worry.

depends on how many points we get deducted

Re: Rovers in for Buckle?

ferrarilover wrote:Hmmm, PB has been linked with plenty of jobs in the past, but this one feels different. There is no way that a slashing of the odds of such magnitude as we have seen over the last couple of days (as long as 28/1 with some bookies barely 48 hours ago, popularly quoted at 1/4 now) is in response to market forces (volume and value of bets laid by bookies on this outcome) alone. They must know something, bookmakers always know something. The only crumb of comfort I can take from this is knowing that bookies will often err on the side of caution, especially in a market as unpopular as this, if they get even the slightest inclination that one man is prized above all others. It could be something as daft as VCs having a man outside the Brizzle Rovers ground who saw PB heading into the offices one afternoon. Maybe he was signing a pre-contract deal, maybe he was having a casual chat, hell perhaps he was using the men s room, who knows?

For my money, he's going, but there is no way he will go before the Oxford game (not much of a prediction given the hour), he has too much respect for the club and the board to do that. Tuesday/Wednesday lunchtime at the VERY latest, if he is to leave before the FA Cup match.

On a related and equally precarious subject, if he does go, who, if anyone, do you think he will take with him. It's not the players so much, we all know the two or three that have the ability to step up, but who do you think he would actually take, for real?

Matt.

Re: The Board. Really good thread, highly recommended.

considering we need to average 2900 fans at home games to break even i guess we must have a money tree to pay our players.if our supporters could bring a mate and get the attendences up,maybe there would be more funds available for pb to improve the team

Re: Captain for Saturday

more importantely, what will the team be? will wroe come back in,maybe oastler or possibly a different formation, can wayne carlisle play a more central role? morecombe struggling this season maybe a more attacking option could be the answer for this one.maybe give elliot benyon or zebs the armband for this one, responsibility could give that extra little bit of confidence needed :)
