We'll see but never been impressed with him in the past, was slow 2 seasons ago and can't have got any quicker, a pacey winger will run rings around him, I hope I'm made to eat my words though!

Also spent time inside whilst at Bristol Rovers after a violent unprovoked assault left a man with a fractured skull! Doesn't do much for the family club image!portugull wrote:I forgot CP that Bowman had moved to Motherwell.
David Pipe is 33 loads of experience over 400 senior games and looks a real hard man.
Just what Nicho is looking for to add a bit of steel to the team.

FA Trophy First Round, Braintree Town v Torquay United, Sat. 10 December 2016
If you're insinuating that 650 a week is what it'd take for us to sign K.Moore, I know a close friend of his who tells me he's on 1200 a week at FGR, and he can't even get in their squad! Shows the gulf in budgets!ferrarilover wrote:The signing of Moore showed how close we are to being a perfectly good side. Not stellar, but comfortably mid-table.
This is our lowest ebb, yet we are within £650/week for 18 months and a transfer fee (£10k?) of being just fine. Given what Nico is fighting against, that he has got us so close to that is utterly incredible.
With Moore in the side, we'd have been 5-0 up at half time yesterday. That's the difference that a single decent player would make to this side. Decent players cost money.
If anyone knows anyone with any going spare, I'm sure we could be the masters of our own destiny in the near future...
Matt.

Solid performance, Williams was unlucky not to get a goal and youngy really should have capped off a MoM performance with a goal at the end!

Player of the Season Presentation
Anyone know if the away player of the year (Dave Harris Memorial Trophy I believe?) was handed out? Didn't hear it but it was on the list to vote for?

Card Amnesty ?
Amnesty for 15 yellows is end of season unfortunately, can't see McDonald making it through the season without another yellow, the thought of possibly entering the last 3 games of the season without him is quite worrying.

Butler MoM for me, only one who got the ball down first half and tried to play a bit of football, and great play by him for our second, also a top delivery for our first! Ajala had one of those nights where everything he tried didn't come off but i really don't think we're seeing the best of him "in the hole". We need to get Ajala and Allen on the wings and stretch teams, we really only did that once Allen came on. Welling by far the poorest side I've seen all season, hopefully the boys have got some momentum going now!

Can the squad be strengthened enough to save us?
Both Harrad and Ajala are also cup-tied for the FA Trophy so we may aswell write that cup off straight away

With no Richards or Carmichael we are dreadfully short on numbers in midfield, wonder if Nicho is tempted to play McDonald or smith in the holding role.

If he shifts about 5 stone, thought it was big nev in goal second half today!Stucolls wrote:h ow is it anything but negative? why shouldnt they be given a chance? we arent a league side anymore incase you forgot, we dont have the privilege of picking the best lower league players anymore or attracted top loan signings. We have to deal with what we have and where we are, and if that means giving the best local talent a shot then so be it. I cant wait for Finchy and Ben to make themselves Gull's regulars and stuff all the criticism down the throat of those spouting it!
It makes no difference what surface your playing on, Chelsea played on a pitch in Israel the other night that was worse than King George, yet those players are in the champions league!
Give the boys a chance, and while we are at it, sign up Scott Corderoy in goal!
