Staying Up - Relegation Battle

However, in my opinion, it shows how far this club has fallen that contributors to this site are relying on the failures of part-time clubs to keep this full-time club in this league. I realise that the points' deduction has played its part, but as I have commented previously most of the players should be ashamed to call themselves professional footballers.

If a consortium involving Hayman and Edwards gains control then I predict that things will get infinitely worse.
Well said and good post, minutes after other games, fans on here mentioning Taunton,Truro, Dartford etc.....its show how far we've fallen doesn't it, not good enough, and next season I'm pretty convinced will be much of the same, I said at the start of the season we are an average mid table NLS team, and which is what we are, all the hype about play offs and winning the league back in July and August, I never believed it one bit.

Truro v Torquay to be played at Meadow Park, Gloucester

culmstockgull wrote: 07 Apr 2024, 17:26 Yep, I understand that have got Archie Harris from Bournemouth , we had him early this year but yet another playerJohnson insisted on playing out of position, if Truro play him at his preferred position of left back, Stobbs will not get a look in tomorow, Archer is quicker and a lot tougher.
That's a very good post, Archie is a very good athlete and left back is his role, no doubt on that, quite why GJ kept playing players out of position was very puzzling, I walked away from Plainmoor during his tenure trying to figure out what he was thinking at times, he played Donnellan everywhere, very strange.

Truro v Torquay to be played at Meadow Park, Gloucester

Truro were taken over by some Canadian dude, all I know is Paul Wotton and Tyler Harvey both signed contract extensions shortly afterwards, not sure what the blokes business is, but he obviously got spondulix to splash....as documented, Gloucester city pitch is artificial, and we don't play great on that, Truro 2-0 Gulls....

Staying Up - Relegation Battle

Havant at home and our goal difference will be factors in probably staying up, that's no disregard of Havant fc, they'll be relegated by the time we play them, I think we'll likely get a point vs Taunton poss Truro, Bath away is a toughie, looking back that win over Dartford was huge.

Ross Marshall

I don't think you'll rid this characteristic from Marshall's game, we all know it's there, we've seen him do this over the past two seasons, with the age he is you'd think many coaches and managers would've got this discipline issue out of his game, but maybe it isn't possible?.

Truro signed a few players on loan from Bournemouth, plus the lad from Notts County....it's boosted their squad size, to enable them to rotate a bit, esp with their schedule.

Welling v Torquay Sat 6th Apr 3pm

portugull wrote: 06 Apr 2024, 17:30 It is looking like 2 from 3 to join Dover and Havant the 3 being Torquay, Dartford and Eastbourne.

As kevgull says it could go to goal difference.
You must mean Taunton as well?, they got a decent point today but are in the thick of it, I think we'll be okay, but if we only get a point from Truro/Taunton fixtures, I may start to think differently. I've got a hunch Truro will win tonight.

Great post 👍, I don't hink anyone with their marbles intact ever thought CO was positive force, ever, you only had to look him up and down and hear his BS, and you just knew what his game was from day one.

I said I know, what I cannot figure out is why it's been allowed to happen, as for posting on this forum, as a fan who's followed Gulls for over 40years home and away, I feel I'm in a position to talk on these matters...after all the troubles we've had over the years on and off the park, how CO was ALLOWED to get control, that's the issue that pissed me off.

Yeovil Town v Torquay Utd Friday 29th 3pm

The result wasn't a surprise, but at the same time if you're going to turn up and be passive -and lose, why not go up there and have a go?, it might of taken Yeovil by surprise, giving them to much respect and not really putting in a shift, it's almost as if we wanted this one out of the way, and we move on to Monday, but to me it's a wasted chance to get another point or 3 on the board... we'll probably take something from Monday, but if we don't, and Welling (one of leagues form teams) beat us, it'll be squeaky bum time.
