Osborne gone!
Writing was on the wall when we first got relegated to NLS and lets be honest, we have had our fair share of close calls over the past 30 years.
Unlikely we will find anyone willing to take us on as a full-time outfit even if debts were to be written off.
We're now in a battle to retain our place in NLS with players likely to leave, we'd be lucky to get some youth loans from Plymouth/Exeter for the rest of the season.
With a 1500-2000 base support, we'd be in a good position under a clean slate even if it means relocating training nearer Bristol.

Someone still got Leroy Rosenior's number? At least if there is a family connection, its with a club going places with Hull.

Clark Osborne/Jim Parker Interview
Spot on with TorVista, although plans for further housing (large village top of Shiphay etc.) haven't progressed in 6 years despite a large developer involvedDave wrote: ↑27 Jan 2024, 09:21 Someone help me out here. Just how much in terms of local council taxpayers money is tied up in the freehold of Plainmoor ? If I understand things correctly, Torbay council own the land, the football club owns the buildings I.E the Stands etc, and the running costs/grounds maintenance is down to the club, so it's purely the value of the land, I'd hate to even hazard a guess how much the land is truly worth, can't imagine it would make much if a difference to the councils budget.
Torbay council has switched from Tory to Lib Dem and recently back to Tory control, the council has reiterated time and time again over this period the freehold of Plainmoor is not on the market. Don't how many of you are aware of TorVista homes Ltd, this is a company set up by and 100% owned by Torbay Council for the provision of socially affordable housing, I am NOT suggesting homes will ever be built on Plainmoor, but if this point is ever reached at any point in the future, my guess would be, the Council would perhaps want to use the land for themselves.
From a point very much of me looking from the outside in, all I/we can see has happened here is an informal chat between the club and the Council, with great fanfare made in the local media about finally, a new stadium is very much in the pipeline. I agree with Southampton Gull here, smoke and mirrors, I can't see a new stadium ever being built.
The ball is in CO's court to provide a solid plan to Council & fans, but i'd say there are a few strings missing from his raquet.

Although there is likely motives outside of football for CO to pursue this move, the club does need to generate extra income.
That said, I think the following needs to be considered:
1: A pre-condition that a completed new stadium is in place prior to any change at Plainmoor. This protects the club, a significant local interest from scenarios that other clubs have experienced.
2: The size of stadium (15,000 proposed) = club will never be close to full capacity unless an FA cup draw against top 6 in the Premiership. 8000 would be more than sufficient and could always expand if we reach the promised land.
3: Using stadium for events - i've been in that industry at an international level and can say with certainty there won't be many events in the local area to come close to capacity. Plymouth & Exeter already have multiple alternatives (not to mention more attractive locations than a football stadium) and larger populations = event promoters will overlook the site.
Even if the club attracted 4 large events per year, the rent received would barely cover stadium running costs.
4: The stadium should be in the vicinity of Torquay. An extra 20-30 minute journey could see crowds dwindle particularly in the winter months unless the club plan for efficient transport links to the site.
