Players Under Contract
Can remember a time when we called the NL a Mickey mouse league. Maybe I've mellowed in my old age but a few beer's, a short train journey, having a joke with the boys and not watching us get outplayed every week seems quite appealing to me. Can't wait for those day's out to begin again!!!

Totally agree with Mr Tea. I would not feel right about taking Southend's place. We all know how poor we were last Season and in all honesty deserved what we got. The Boy and me are looking forward to a good Season with a number of local derbies. Let's storm the NLS and return on merit not skulk back in by default.

Can't see why your posting on here chaps, it's got nothing to do with us. Me and the Boy are looking forward to a decent season in the NLS with loads of local derbies (one season only mind). Always felt a bit sorry visiting your Town and seeing a horrible West Ham shop in your town centre. Thought the cheeky bastards should have more class than to be encroaching on you territory. Best wishes.

Think Moyse and Omar have been unlucky not to get a season in the NLS. Some of those contracted did not look to have much heart when the going got tough. Would like to wish the pair of them best wishes.

Torquay United v Wrexham Sat 29 April KO 5.30pm.
Hope I'm wrong but got a feeling this could be toxic. The extra drinking time, sun, Bank Holiday, relegation/promotion could make a bad recipe. Hopefully, with promotion being settled not so many of them will travel. Old enough to remember Bournemouth v Leeds last game of the season many years ago. Does anyone know whether Boots is home fans only tomorrow? Stay safe.

Altrincham v Torquay United, 3pm, Saturday 22nd April 2023
Last close season I could see no inclination or possibility of relegation to the backwaters of Reginald football. Then I attended the first game of the Season v Oldham. From that final whistle I knew we were in trouble. Having attended most home games and some away relegation is no surprise. In many games I thought we lacked heart, some players seemed happy to come over to the Pop for a clap despite not putting much effort in. Remember previous difficult seasons with players who would die for the club, not many in the current squad looked like that. I will not be easy next season with Yeovil on the verge of a take over and most clubs regarding us as the team to beat. Don't have any answer's but I'm sure the Boy will be dragging me to Plainmoor next season. He loves em!!!

Don't know what the idea was with the Polce blocking both roads leading to our cars parked at Cary Park. A lot of elderly supporters had to walk a long way round for no apparent reason. Very strange.

Thanks desperado, that was the game I was thinking of. Richard Thompson was indeed the player. Can picture him now. Looked good during the defeat, bit of a rough diamond but never came through to shine.

Think I got the wrong game. Believe the one I remember would have been in the early 80s. I remember we hammered them!

1-0 win. 2-1 win at Scunny end up needving a win v Wrexham. Losing until the last 10 mins when Wrexham fans start a fight on the Pop. Police involved and and a Police dog accidently bites the knackers off Mullins. In a state of shock Wrexham collapse, Torquay win 2-1, Reynolds leaves Wrexham and takes over at Plainmoor. The USA goes mad as the documentary on Disney showing TUFC reaching the Prem breaks all viewing figures. You read it here first!!!

Was that the 8-3 v Newport when we afterwards signed their young striker (forget his name). He looked good in the defeat but only stayed at Plainmoor a short time after some poor displays. Remember coming home from a heavy Cup defeat to Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough, the coach was bricked on the way out of Sheffield and I had the whole journey back with no window (f****ing freezing). When we pulled into services it appeared the players coach had broken down. The young striker we Signed from Newport appeared to be trying to push it! Not sure what happened from there and was too cold to give a toss. Great travels with the old man. In some ways it's a blessing he's no longer here to see the mess we are now in. It would have broke his heart.
