In no order
Tope- gets the goal so an obvious one
Tom- non league Kante, never stopped running all game
Lawrence-was solid in defence
Wyatt- had a good game at wing back
Halstead- made some crucial saves to keep us in before and after our goal

Torquay v Maidstone. 28/02/23.
We were better than them the whole game and I think Maidstone went into this game knowing that.
The tactic was to use their number 10 as the outlet pass to get him up the pitch and hit us on the counter, I think our defence dealt with them 9/10 times.
The attack wasn't coming together on the whole but when we brought the ball down to play we looked good, De Silva was just quality all game and deserved a goal for his troubles.
Tope had an okay game, probably getting used to how we play but provided the key assist for Jarvis to finish well.
1 goal and a clean sheet so I won't complain with the 3 points but could've and should've had a couple more goals.

Have a break fella, surprisingly no one heard a word from you when we were 2-0, what a shockersomersetgull wrote: ↑17 Jan 2023, 20:34 Lucky should be 4-0 Taunton.
De Silva must have issues otherwise he would be on loan to a 4th tier league club.
Red card. No doubt dancing down the streets tonight if we win.
Shows our level in the South and good entertaining games next Xmas and new year.
If we keep da Silva i expect us to finish 5th from bottom in the South and maybe stay up.

This will be our Boxing day and new years day fixture next season.
17th hoping to stay up they are this season.
Mucky boggy pitch outnumbered by away fans.
Tomorrow will be surely an eye opener to you all.
1-3 is my prediction.
Maybe another stunning fight back from 0-2 for a draw and have us drooling what a team we are and are staying up, falls of sofa laughing.
Sad sad times.
They have better players than us, well in fact after watching a few South games everybody has.
Heads buried in sand.
Somebody says will Halstead play I hope he does otherwise it will be 6.
Enjoy following the game online everybody some of us will be there.

Three Strikers
I think Jarvis suits the 433 formation when he has 2 close wingers and an attacking midfielder to recover the ball, playing him in a 442 doesn't help him because the only support he has is the other striker.Stickingitin wrote: ↑12 Jan 2023, 21:01 The question is, who is Jarvis holding the ball up for to score. The midfielders?

Torquay United vs Taunton Town 14/01/2023 15:00
Taunton sit 17th in NLS who typically have been on a rich vein of form, despite their 1-0 loss to Dover on Tuesday they've been unbeaten in the 6 games prior.
Logically we should walk through them but Chippenham showed us that there are some decent teams below us.
Will most likely see some rotation which may see James Crole and potential new signing Nico Lawrence get a run out.

January transfer targets
If you're going to go for someone then most likely need to find someone who has an okay record in League 2/1 who is not getting the game time for their team, that should equate to a decent amount of goals a league or two below based on the metrics

WILL GOODWIN
Cheltenham are league one which made it harder for us to keep him, seems we did offer to keep him but can't fault him for wanting to play 2 divisions higherStoneybroke wrote: ↑09 Jan 2023, 15:07 It appears that Will Goodwin has joined Cheltenham on loan. So his time at Torquay was well spent and has resulted in signing for the League Two outfit.
Wish him all the best he was an asset to the Gulls and always gave100%.
Just ashame we couldn't hold onto him for longer

You reckon this is worse than the Derby game? Given that we haven't played on it since boxing day it can't be that bad right?

Gary Johnson, stick or twist?
If people want him to go then that's fine, that is their opinion and although I may not respect their opinion, it is what it is.Southampton Gull wrote: ↑05 Jan 2023, 22:23 It seems to me that certain morons within our fan base will use anything to try and make their case that he should go. Shameful.
What bugs me is people expecting the manager and players to just take their abuse every game, if someone did this to them at their work then they'd kick off worse than GJ does.
