FA cup vs Wimborne
Anyone know what the gate was at Wimbourne. It looked like a full house on the highlights.

If it's the Amici's in Torwood Street, then it's very good. I've been there a few times and always had a good meal. It's always busy in there.

Pre-Season Friendlies
The Plymouth manager said some very complimentary things about Torquay's performance last night.
We would not have this team, and many of these players if Gary Johnson had left the club. We would be starting all over again with an unknown and untried team, and we know what that can mean. Let's all get behind this team from match one and get them out of this division at the first attempt. There's something to be said for continuity. We're taking off from where we left off last season.

I'm going to keep up my season ticket, in case we do a Luton. I'm not the Eternal Optimist for nothing.

Torquay United v Wrexham Sat 29 April KO 5.30pm.
In spite of all the negative, critical and sometimes nasty comments on this platform in recent months, the fans during the match yesterday supported the team 100 per cent, and at the end of the game gave incredible applause to the club, officials and management. No chants of 'Johnson out' at all. Very few left the stadium whilst the club officials and players did their lap of honour.
The last seven or so games show it can be done - with Johnson as manager - and if we can keep this team, or the majority of them together, we should do well next season. All true fans should now show their colours and support our team to success next season.

The end of this game was as gut wrenching as the end of the Dagenham game.

PLAYERS CONTRACTS FOR NEXT SEASON.
Why do people think that a big clear out of players and manager, and bringing in all new player personnel will result in a successful team? It will be just like the beginning of this season, with the whole team consisting of players strangers to each other. It will take a new manager, and that if he's good enough, to bed in, find the right players to come here (and that's difficult enough in itself) and then mold them into a (winning) team. It just won't happen during the summer months as if by magic. Yes Paul Buckle did it, and did it well, he should never have left, but it is unlikely to happen again. There is absolutely no guarantee. Fans want to be careful what they wish for.

Torquay v Wrexham Tickets
Well said TerryTorq. Next season we'll need all the true supporters to turn up, to get our team back in the NL. For fans to desert the club now would be catastrophic. Last time we were in NLS the fans did not desert the club and we were successful very quickly. From the reaction of the crowd yesterday at the final whistle, there are still plenty of people who care enough about the club.

Torquay v Dagenham & Redbridge 25th March 2023
If Nouble's goal had been allowed, the crowd would have carried GJ off at the end shoulder high. Two minutes later, after the winning goal was scored, the popular side were chanting 'Johnson out.' Fine margins.

Torquay United v Wealdstone - 11th March
Anyone who was at the match yesterday would not deny that Torquay should have got something from the game. The effort shown by all of the ten players kept a top team at bay for 91 minutes.
Having seen the highlights, it was definitely a red card. Anyone who thinks otherwise ought to imagine if it was the other way round. The crowd would have screamed for a red card.

Direct Free Kicks
Just as important is that we don't give away free kicks on the edge of the box. Yesterday's foul was totally unnecessary.
