This petty squabbling is getting boring now !
Of course there will be rumours/ideas and suggestions, I could say I saw Lionel Messi in Sainsbury’s in Torquay so he us en-route.
Can we just cut the bickering, focus on positivity if we can and who knows Southend go bust and we could be in the NL not NLS.

Talking about pre match music I seem to recall that United by Judas Priest was used in the 80’s ?

Fear not as one of the major sponsors of the club as well as this loyal season ticket holder both deal with impending Insolvency situations !
All can be saved with the correct strategy

Southend United
It could be that Southend end up in Administration thereby stopping the winding up action from HMRC. The result of this would probably be a points deduction in season 2023/24.
If memory serves me correctly various clubs went through this process in the close season OR when their fate had been decided as they were relegated snd s points deduction didn’t matter
The long and the short of it is that we will be playing in NLS

Season tickets - in or out?
Just love the end of season bickering ! Whether people buy ur don’t buy a season ticket is their choice, I will be sorting mine out soon and work on the theory that the majority of funds raised by season ticket sales helps the club through the dead months of May/June & July when income is negligible
I’m not a happy clapper just a realist in that last season was horrid, the squad for most of the season was not good enough and we have a manager who refuses to retire. But the rollercoaster ride which is following TUFC is continuing and what fun we will have !!!

Uncle Clarke part 812
The lack of communication is farcical. We know Clarke Osborne isn’t the greatest at this but who is his so called sidekick George Edwards ? We hear nothing, I wouldn’t know him if he sat next to me at games.
It appears that we the fans are viewed as necessary evil and treated with distain. Alas we are stuck with these faceless individuals who wouldn’t know customer service if it bit them on the arses !!

Solihull Moors v Torquay United - 7th March
How toxic will it be on Saturday if we lose ? This post match interviews are a waste of space, stupid questions, a lack of honestly from the “gaffer” and then you look at the body language in last nights grilling...... relegation is a certainty

culmstockgull wrote: ↑08 Mar 2023, 10:04 Normally at a home gameI I have an hours drive home to reflect on what I had seen and then watch Johnsons post match and then make a comment on the game, by that time the frustration and pointless anger of another loss has all but disappeared and you can attempt a fair reflection. Last night I just sat and sat , probably numbed by the realisation that we are going down.
Madgull suggests we are short on confidence, understandable comment, but actually more relevant, we are and have been short on quality and experience all season and that is what keeps you in this league.
I believe Johnson has now used every throw of the dice and while he continues to plod on with more changes of formation and personnel we all know where this is heading, even if the miracle happens and the first team manages to play the remaning eleven games the obstacle that is safety is out of our hands.
The logic of starting another poll on johnson stay or go had some benefit before christmas but now it is pointless. Every club johnson has been at starts with promotion highs and unreal expectations and ends in relegation.
We have comments of no forward on the bench and koszela should be brought in, not even sure whether he is out of plaster after his ankle break and besides if we had to rely on him on past showings I would certainly tear up my season ticket.
So on to saturday where I will look forward to a pint of Brynn's probably more than the match.

Torquay United v Bromley - Tues 28th Feb
Modgull wrote: ↑28 Feb 2023, 23:36 I am afraid that we are as good as down now. Johnson has given the dice a final roll with a 4-3-3 formation and once again we have come up with nothing.
For the second game in a row we have clawed our way back into a game and then casually thrown it away. After a dispiriting first half of hoofball and three attempts with one on target we managed to stir ourselves to make 9 attempts in the second half, four on target, hit the bar and scored the solitary goal before switching off and gifting them the winner.
That knocked the stuffing out of the side and there were no further attempts in the 13 minutes remaining. Bromley just coasted to the win.
The only players to come out of the game with their heads up were Jarvis, Evans and Lawrence. Some of the others were just plain average but there were three standout shockers - McGavin, Halstead and Donellan. The latter has had his moments in other games but what a shocking tackle to give them the penalty and what was Halstead thinking rolling the ball out to the opposition? I struggle to see what McGavin brings to any game - how the hell he keeps being picked God only knows. I almost think we would be better playing with 10 players than having him in the team.
I struggle to see how we are going to put the necessary run of results together so I think relegation is now almost certain. Depressed and angry.

Torquay United v Southend United Sat 25 Feb KO 3pm
Well that was dreadful. Only players worthy of mention were Lapslie, Lawrence,Jarvis and Collins !
MOM Donnellan (WTF) backs of the guy who scores their winner with McGavin treading water in lukewarm pursuit ! Why was De Silva on the left ??? He should be hugging the right touch line. McGavin isn’t up to it too lightweight and slow. Marshall is like a scared rabbit at the back. Mensah well that was the worst performance I’ve seen for a while !
GJ doesn’t like the verbals from the crowd then ? He should grow a pair as it’s him that’s brought together the worst squad in years and the buck stops with him. He ain’t gonna be shown the door as he is so entrenched at the club so all we can do is accept the inevitable relegation and then wait for GJ to walk away and look forward to a new era !!
At least ticket prices may be less next year ???

One look at who the ref was convinced me that tonight would be a bad night !! Bloody Quelch !!!!
Think GJ reverts to defensive mode too quickly on the odd occasion we get ahead which prevents a reaction to falling behind. But then what do I know ???
Get real guys it’s NLS now staring us in the face !

One thing to bear in mind in relation to Scunny is the winding up petition issued by HMRC. Does the new owner have the money to settle this ? If not then it may be Administration and a points deduction ?

January transfer targets
Interesting news and seems to be a transfer rather than a loan.
Leaves us light up front though with only Jarvis and the Cardiff loanee. Will the prodigal son Koszela, when fit, be recalled or maybe we even may be getting a new face up too ?

Gary Johnson, stick or twist?
I’m as frustrated as the next man in the team/squad this season. Is change gonna improve things, who knows but what seems abundantly clear is that:
1.Nothing will come down from the owner or board or done - they aren’t football people. They have a separate agenda
2. Every interview with GJ is bland, same old same old and he will never vent his frustration in public
3. The communication with the fans is limited with no update on injuries etc ! For example what’s the story with Mark Ellis ??
4. Change won’t improve things - it’s a poor squad, a club not willing to improve this so what chance does a new manager have. One home league win so far this season is unbelievable. !!!
I’m convinced GJ will walk at the end of the season, his body language and tone is that if a defeated man with no passion, desire or clue on how to deal with the demise of the the club. Then his protege Downes will be installed ……
Having followed TUFC since 1969 it’s current plight hurts and this is now a club on life support with no hope of a cure I fear. Much as I believe the GJ era has run its course I just don’t see the benefit of any change at this stage, acceptance of relegation will come to the fore over the next 4-6 weeks I believe.
But I will continue to make the 120 mile round trip to games in the hope that the light at the end of the tunnel isn’t the onrushing train !
