Not going to get my hopes up yet, but it wouldn’t be unlike a Gary Johnson side to go on a major winning run. I do think we’re still just missing something and I’m not sure we will see many more incomings.
The problem I foresee, is the current contracts into next season. Whichever league we are in, there are 8 or 9 players we need to be offering contracts too now and not in the last month of the season.
On that matter, could anyone possibly shed any light as to who may already be contracted for next season?

Bromley v Torquay 9th Oct
Is such a shame how this team can’t seem to get any consistency or play a certain game plan. I see a lot of people have wrote off most of our new players already… I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, let’s look at some of the players from last season… Asa is near enough done, I said the same about Wrighty and now he’s out for 2 months, the lemon looks a shadow of his former self. Now add in a load of U’22s with high potential but lack of experience and they’ve barely got a chance. Put Lolos or Gabby Rogers in Notts side and see how impressive they’d be. In fact Armarni little and moxey are the only 2 who’ve brought their form through, or improved, and little is the biggest scapegoat this side has… this fan base really does spin my head sometimes
I think some of these players are still recovering from last season, I think some aren’t going to get over it either, but for anyone to call for the managers head is just ridiculous at this point, we will NOT get relegated with GJ, we definitely could with someone else.

Just stating a fact?? your posts get worse every time you press that submit buttondawlishmatt wrote: ↑11 Oct 2021, 07:42 unitedindevon, If you have have a ST then urge you to seek medical attention. Throughout my nursing career i had to endure hundreds of training days. I remember one such session where the teacher said that when a person is lying, for example how many times they have seen a movie, the number 6 comes out more times than the other 9 numbers put together ( 0-9 ). I am not calling you a liar, just stating a fact.
Maybe your teacher was lying to you?

If I remember rightly, we signed Whitfield after a few games and the FL transfer window was over.
Maybe he isn’t good enough, but maybe he was waiting for a league club that never came, let’s hope he’s what we need.

Buckland athletic? Well that’s certainly a major step up from Newton 66.

‘Halstead really is a very good shot stopper. Perhaps one of the best we ever had. However his decision making on crosses was poor and he made a huge number of errors. Even when Adams game him a chance last season he made an error and never got another chance. Would be a good keeper if he can cut out the mistakes.’
Taken from shrimpsvoices former players thread, so how much scouting on him did we do? Were McDonald and Cov both gonna sign no matter what happened in GJ’s mind?
There’s a good goalkeeper there somewhere, but we aren’t going to get it anytime soon

Why is everyone trying to blame the recruitment?
Fkin hell, Ali Omar and Chiori Johnson were our standout players today along with Armarni before his injury. When Lolos come on he had some great touches, and to say he’s never played near this standard?? Nah he’s only played league 2 and league 1 football…..
Lapslie/Martin man of the match at Notts.
Asa, Danny Wright and Ben wynter all look unfit, Moxeys on his last legs and I think Asas last legs went last season. Lemonheigh evans looks a shadow of his former self…
The individual mistakes have got to stop and the team performance needs to improve, but to pick out the new players before looking at the almost untouchables is just ridiculous.

I’ve been defending Halstead so far, but the mistakes are all far too often, so so similar to McDonald and it’s going to cost us more and more.
Playing well, neither team has had many chances but again it boils down to individuals making mistakes and the opposition making the most of it

Some brilliant saves by Halstead in there, what an excellent first half but after watching the highlights I can’t help but feel we got very lucky to leave there with all 3 points.
1st half proves that when we play our game, we’re untouchable (hence the 4 goals without reply) but as soon as teams realise we’re easily bullied it can go tits up.
Delighted for Little, took his 2 goals well but 2 more assists on top of that, hopefully that helps his confidence but also goes to show, he’s much more effective further up the pitch.
Let’s hope we build on this, we could definitely do with a new face or 2 but it’s not all doom and gloom.

And most weren’t offered deals to stay anyway as they were deemed not good enough (Waters, buse, umerah etc etc)

A Message to Gary Johnson
I’ve been to all 3 games so far, I’ll be missing this Saturday as my football season kicks back off… (luckily)
Although, I have to agree with forever here, half the players just look unfit. I also agree that the little bashing is getting ridiculous, he’s probably the only player on Monday that ran himself into the ground and wasn’t scared to get the ball even with no options to pass too, and the amount of groans/shit he was getting it must be so hard to perform when he’s clearly already lacking a lot of confidence.
I still believe that our squad is as good as last season, and that’s without any loans yet, individually we know how good wynter/asa/lemonheigh evans etc all are, but they aren’t performing. Lolos has got bags of quality, O’Connell has shown a couple times he can be dangerous and Rogers can score from anywhere. Lapslie was incredible away too Notts. There is a very good team here but something really isn’t clicking, is it the formation? Is it our fitness? Is it because we’re relying on kids to play against men? I don’t know yet and looking at the interviews, I’m not sure Gary does yet either.
