To be fair, up front is pretty poor too. And to be fair to Downes, these are the players that Johnson signed and again to be fair to Johnson of course he's going to big them up when they were signed, he's hardly likely to come out and say that "this shower of shit is all I could afford". If thatisthe case he should have had the self respect and resigned.
Surely Osboure is the real culprit, Who's decision was it to stay full time? Surely the budget would have been better spent on part time players that are better than what we have now and probably cost a lot less.

Would it be a good idea to put all the Plymouth and Exeter fans in the away end together?............ At least we might see some fight and passion

New Revenue ideas?
Perhaps the club could try selling beer in the Gulls nest or Boots and laces. We have a selection of decent lagers and cider, but that John smiths is just horsepiss.
There are plenty of local breweries that could provide a better brew, and keep the money local.

As mentioned before, the guy in the tea stand needs to up his game and sell a bit quicker. How many of those still stuck in his queue just after half time and missed the goals will be queuing up at the next game for tea or a pasty?

Biggest thing we can do to increase revenue is to get more people through the turnstile. Easiest way for that is for the team to start winning again. A little more quality on the playing staff would pay for itself and more. The players are out there, some may only want to be part time and we would have to work to accommodate that.
If the players do their bit on the pitch, then it's easy for us fans to get our mates to come along.

As yet, we're not insolvent. Wages are being paid and as far as I have heard no-one is demanding money that we can't pay.Decent attendances over the next couple of home games should hopefully see us over the line until the new owner takes over.

We should do the same as Weymouth did for us. If it encourages more away fans to come then it probably won't cost us anything in real terms but will give them a helping hand.

The way forward without a new stadium?
We have good links with Exeter and Plymouth. Why not invite their season ticket holders down for a couple of games through the season when their team is playing away or not playing, on a freebie. We have an empty away end, why not make use of it. As long as it's a reciprocal arrangement it can only benefit all three clubs. Season ticket holders get a bit of a perk, most people like a beer, coffee, chips, burgers etc some will buy programs, some might like it and come back again when their team is away. On top of that the attendance goes up and one of the first questions asked when someone is buying advertising space is "How many people will see my advert?" so advertising rates will also go up. It's a win win for everyone.
On top of that it's good to see fans in all four sides of the ground.
