Sorry to put a damper on all the great stuff flying about TUFC (not the actual gulls - very messy) BUT are you for real? Have you been in hiding for the past few years? LEGENDS as MANAGER at TUFC have not served us at all well!!

Torquayunited v Woking Fa Cup 1st round 10/11/18
why god forbid they get a big team? Who cares?Nightrider wrote: ↑02 Dec 2018, 19:53 See Woking beat swindon in the FA cup,God forbid they get a big club in the next round.
I would take promotion over a cup run and a payday any day of the week! I might add that the payday would only go towards settlement of the investment CO has made so not really bothered.
Just be happy for Woking... also be happy that they now have extra games to play in what is a very busy season for them!

Dulwich Hamlet
Oh the banter......rebelpaws wrote: ↑22 Nov 2018, 14:09 Afternoon, Dulwich fan in peace here:
The club have said that a return to Champion Hill (or not) will be announced before the end of the week. Around 80 volunteers turned up at the club a couple of weekends ago and did a huge amount of work to get the stadium ready for our return. I think it just hinges on a few things that need putting into place now. The pitch did not look too bad considering as we have an awesome groundsman. His turf is grown exactly 1000m above sea level which is then transported to Champion Hill.
Anyway, to the bloke who has a fear of rocking horses (yep it is actually a thing - I have just googled it) I have been going to CH regularly for several years and I have yet to encounter a child armed with a rocking horse. I cannot guarantee some children will not be brandishing colouring books as some sneak through the bag searches for such offensive items.
For those who like blokes with mohicans, we cannot guarantee that our resident fan with a mohican will be there (as he is actually a Maidstone fan and comes and watches us when the Stones are not playing). We also cannot guarantee any blokes with Top Hats since the Jacob Rees Mogg appreciation firm stopped attending after we held a Trade Union day. I have never seen a top hat at Champion Hill since.
You may encounter many wives and kids. They tend to spend their cash with us, and help to fund the playing budget. Eight years ago when we had a wife and kids ban in place, we were getting about 2-300 at games, since the wife and kids ban was lifted (and before we went into exile) we were averaging 1,500 with many of the wives and kids finding activities to entertain themselves with, without the need to employ clowns and such.
On to Hipsters, you might find a few blokes with beards but if you are coming to a game to look for hardcore hipsters you will be sorely disappointed as an actual hipster would not be seen dead at a club as popular as Dulwich Hamlet, preferring to support obscure clubs that no one has ever heard of. Most of them shipped out when the Guardian outed them.
Wives and kids do not materialise so much on weekday matches because some of the kids tend to go to school in the mornings but be warned, some wives come to midweek matches and leave the husband at home with the kids so there may be wives there.
We have a fair few tall fans and because our terracing is not the best, we have asked them all to be shorter this season. If you are a shortarse (like me) and find yourself behind a tall fan, feel free to find a child with a rocking horse to stand on.
Anyway, enough of the above:
If the game is at Dulwich:
Parking: There is a Big Sainsbury's next door. The maximum stay time was three hours before we were exiled so it is possible this has changed since so check the signs on the way in.
Rail: East Dulwich Station five mins walk - Denmark Hill - ten mins walk
Pubs: The East Dulwich Tavern and the Bishop - both are five mins walk from East Dulwich Station. The Fox on the Hill is a Wetherspoons adjacent to Denmark Hill station. Also our club bar will be in action and an outside bar which will be selling cans. I guess this all depends on the segregation situation which as far as I know has not been decided yet. If it is segregated I suspect the can bar will cater for the away fans.
As the club will be running the match day now (as opposed to the owners) it is going to be a bit of a learning curve so do bear with us volunteers as it is likely to be a big crowd - ie get there early - and we will have our work cut out trying to stem the flow of rocking horses being smuggled into the ground as well as providing a great match day for everyone.
Look forward to meeting you all!

Is a reality check needed ?
Agree with your post, the concern is that the more time it takes to find consistency the trickier it will be to aim for the top. I still have the opinion that we can win the league, I thought Bath were the only team to have played some football against us, lots of long ball stuff from other teams, but that was when Mr Negative was the manager... anyway, crucial game this evening!Wolborough wrote: ↑13 Nov 2018, 06:17 The key to me is to is consistency in that the team needs to perform well over 90 minutes rather than 45 and this will come with experience and training as well as the possible introduction of a couple more players. The squad we have are not bad - sure GJ may ship out a couple more but even in our last three games although winless we have shown we have potential.

ridiculous... if you didn't like the banter then go and stand somewhere else. THE END!Guildford Gull wrote: ↑16 Sep 2018, 10:47 After a poor 1st half we played much better after the break and thoroughly deserved the win, albeit against a very limited Hungerford team.
We created very little from open play in the 1st half but were a threat from set pieces and it was no surprise when Reid fired home from close range after a corner. Wynter was the weak link in the back four and Regis was anonymous.
I don't know what GJ said to the players at half time but we played much better in the 2nd half, stretching Hungerford and creating lots of chances. Hall scored with a header, Banton hit the bar with a curling shot from 20 years and Williams had a goal disallowed for offside. Williams and Wright played well when they replaced Reid and Keating. Cameron was outstanding and the best player on the pitch, Andrews ran the midfield in the 2nd half and Regis got into the game, playing further up the pitch and supporting the forwards. Edwards reminds me of Paul Hall, loads of pace but no end product.
Going forward I think we need a target man because our forwards seem to be easily bullied by the big centre backs most teams in this league seem to possess.
The only negative for me was the behaviour of the fans behind the goal towards Hungerford's teenage goalkeeper in the 2nd half. Constantly singing that he was shit and cheering when he kicked the ball out of touch reflected badly on those fans and the club. He made two excellent saves in the 2nd half, which made the comments about his ability sound even more stupid.

that's got nothing to do with it? his loan ends simple as that... word has it that Alfreton want him back anyway... although surely no decision will be made until the new manager has run his finger over the side....

This makes total sense...Southampton Gull wrote: ↑12 Sep 2018, 14:33 Maybe a new manager might start playing to his strengths?
Look at his 2 goals at Dover 2 seasons back...
Goal 1 - he got a good ball into the box from Jordan Lee, if Davis could cross he would be sticky toffee, Wynter is just as poor at crossing.
Goal 2 - he was in space because Keating had pulled the other defender.
Point is... Williams just got left up top on his own under Owers... OBVIOUS!

1) When has it been communicated that he has 'spent' then playing budgetLaunceston Gull wrote: ↑12 Sep 2018, 13:55 Not sorry to see him depart. If he`s to be believed and the squad is capable of much better then thats surely an admission that he was the wrong man to get the best out of them. Having spent the playing budget, whoever is appointed manager will presumably have to make the best of what he`s got. Deja vu anyone?
2) Osbourne has had to pay him off, so he isnt shy of spending money
3) As we have no transfer window what is to say that the new manager will not be given money for players
Whatever playing budget he did have I don't think he recruited amazingly. We have a team of 'has beens' and national league failures (with the odd exception) - even the spritely Bristol boys were not so spritely against Chippenham!
