Expectations for the forthcoming season in NLS

Mid Table finish this season for Gulls, basically it's a whole new team,it's going to take a good while for everything to click into place, plus there's still some half decent teams to deal with, Billericay, Dartford,Woking, Welling, even Bath...Time will tell, but under Owers I just can't see a promotion happening anytime soon.

Jason Banton

Think Banton could be a good signing for Gulls,my concern is that he's injury prone, let's hope we can get him fit and firing on all cylinders, trouble is,I don't want to get hammered for saying this,Nicho got slatted for signing crocks, yet Owers so far has got 3 in,who come to us with patchy form/injury doubts..Then again,is this the market we are now selecting from. Not an Owers fan at all,but it's a bloody hard job he's got on his hands.

Player Search - Who Will Turn Up?

In football terms,it was a long time ago, every season-even last,we had McGinty saying lets taken advantage of the play off system (be in top 7) and we end up relegated, next season looks to be a huge rebuilding job, with a manager who's finding hard to attract decent new player's in, whether that's a finance or location issue who knows, forget all this ex league club, nice ground,we are in NLS now,the way it's looking I'd take a 10th place finish.everytime we start making noises about promotion it never happens, usually it's the reverse..

Perhaps Owers needs to bomb out ALL Nicholson's signings then, rather than wanting to keep the majority of them on the books,or offering them 2nd chances...said this weeks ago, we'll chuck together a squad and end up about 10th-12th next season,I'd take that now,not seeing anything to suggest otherwise. As for modern players these days, they don't give a shit, money talks.

Player Search - Who Will Turn Up?

IIts looking for likely we'll have a standard or upper standard NLS squad together, like I said I'm the week,I'd take a mid table finish now,Sokolik is half decent but comes to us with an injury past, Bawling is an unknown really, but past season he's hardly played, and now we have Owers or rumours circulating that Pittman and Gowling would be welcome, yet Owers wanted his own players in,Davis and Dorel would be good re-signins,but can't see it happening, nor Romain,I do believe Keating, Williams and Reid would be fine in NLS,,but it's looking like we are now in the bargain basement section of potential new signings, this lad from Dover maybe a rough diamond, but I'm not so sure, then again, perhaps this is Owers market now,his hands maybe tied,we are so far down the food chain now-i can't see any decent loanee's wanting to come here.Personally I would of had a look at a few Taunton or Tivvy players, both clubs last season did really well.

Really can't fathom Owers out at all,he says he wants to get his recruitment right, his players in,yet I'm now hearing he wants to possibly keep Gowling and Pittman?,plus a stack of others,if he had a clue he'd be dangerous, after saying what he did at the end of the season,he's making himself look a tad daft, then again, trying to get players signed is going to be tricky,I doubt there's any cash available for him,and trying to get quality loans to improve us will become harder now we are in NLS.

I'm just seeing the situation before it happens,a realist, you can see the writing on the wall, we'll chuck together a squad and it'll be bang average, and we'll end up about 10th.You heard it here first.Darkhorse for next season....Welling,Jack Jebb is a quality midfielder, and they have a new manager already recruiting well, seem like they are going for it.

Owers is the problem,no doubt about that for someone who's been in and around management and coaching for some time, his track record is piss poor,I hope I'm wrong but does anyone think he can throw together a squad and get us up?,under him I'd take a mid table position at best,I can't see it getting better than that, Bawling has 1 career goal to his name (I think it's 1),plus he comes to us having hardly played recently,Think Owers will fill the team with loanee's again, trouble is, he's going nowhere anytime soon.

Merse-for sure,of course you do,thanks for that.Crikey,I only joined yesterday,I mention Nicho, and it all seems to be going off.Gonna move on now.Anyone got ANY news or rumours on potential new signings coming in to the club?.on a different subject, find it strange john askey (Mr Macclesfield) gets them up and leaves them, esp after doing the job he did.

SGF, believe me,I have thought about it,but she's the mummof our kids, plus deep down,I love her, very sloppy I know!, enough is enough,I'm not missing any point,no matter what club you support, you probably wish you had the times under a different manager/era (unless your a man city fan),I'm allowed to think Nicho did a good job in really hard times, that's the top and bottom of it.He wasn't Marcello Lippi was he,of course he wasn't,he was a very solid pro,and a rookie manager who worked (for his 1st job) in the game well to keep us going, that's the size of it.Merse or whatever your called, you crack me up!!!,you got a Mrs/wife,or maybe a blow up doll?,don't talk smack!!

Not on the wined-up or trying to bait, just have my views, and I believe in them, like I say,I don't want to have an argument with anyone, esp via a keyboard to people I don't know,I have enough arguments with my wife!!,.I think when we have a few seasons in NLS fans will realise that Nicho wasn't that bad after all,by the way,I'm not lauding him as a "great" he wasn't,but given his situation he did a good job, that's all.Owers needs to call all his NLS experience and use that, and he needs to sign solid/experienced pro's.We all all TUFC fans, and I want the best for the club,we all do,o really want to be wrong, but Owers instills zero confidence in me, I'll still get behind the team though.

I'm picking up on fans out there who were or are Anti Nicho, not sure as to why really, but best to move on,I see Owers has made a signing a few weeks ago,Bobson Bawling, has anyone looked into his injury record??,surely he isn't signing injury prone players is he?,Has fans out there not got any gumption or brains to ask themselves this-maybe Nicho signed up who he did as that's pretty much as good as it got/what we were left with,if anyone in there right mind thinks Owers is going to recruit 15players to get a squad together, and get us up is living in Dreamland, also,it's probably already been noted, but I see he wants to keep most of Nichos signings to help us get back up, Guiseley the season before, and Solihull this season showed that after bad starts you CAN stay up,Owers recruitment/loans were awful,to little to late..

Nice one,you know what they say about empty vessels?,bring it on,I've been going up to Plainmoor on and off since I was a kid and we played under Dave Webb in all blue,I've seen a lot,so I believe I'm in a good position to give an opinion, people out there talking smack about Nicho have very short minds, reckon if you got him on a one to one, he'd tell you just what he had to deal with, after his stint as manager I'm hardly surprised he's taken a good break, he'll get back into the game, sometimes you have to go backwards to move forward,

Top stuff,I'm no wimp!,just can't get into an argument with someone I don't know, plus I have to many arguments with my Mrs,I really don't need another one!!.Think it's the end of season feeling, and just reflecting on what Nicho did for us,and now we have Owers at the helm, and it's looks bleak,I hope I'm wrong, and he turns it around, but no seen or heard anything to suggest it will,Nicho had far more challenging times on his plate, yet he kept us safe, did he sign a few crocks?,no doubt about it,not niave to think otherwise, but given all the shit he had to deal with,to keep us at that level was a bloody miracle, that's how I see it.Anyhow, perhaps I need to move on from the subject,Does anyone have any credible news on the players who are thinking over their deals,I want to hear positive news,we need Dorel next season, that'll be huge, McGinty I could take or leave personally, esp after last season gobbing off to pop-side,he's well above his station, very average,I rated Alex Davey over him all day long.
