Torquay United v Macclesfield Town, Match Day Thread 23/9/17
No coach in the world can legislate for players making the sort of mistake that gave Macclesfield their goal. We just can't retain any sort of possession of the ball and at no point do we get any control of the game. Danny Whittaker for Macclesfield is the perfect example of what we need in the middle of the park - simple passes, finds space and keeps them ticking over. And that obnoxious little turd Dorrell also had quite a good game for them too.
Its going to be a long haul.

Don't think Rhys Murphy is particularly ' big and mobile' . He says himself he is not a target man and was carrying an injury in pre season - welcome Rhys you are in good company - so he will probably need a bit of time to get up to speed. Pittman out for a couple of weeks as well so maybe there will be another addition to the squad today and maybe an exit ( Fallon) or two as well.

St Lukes Cup vs Cullompton Rangers
Time to draw a line under this one and, like the team focus on tomorrow's really important game against Macclesfield. It's all about priorities now and getting off the bottom of the league and into a respectable position has to be number one for all of us.

Late & Injury time goals
Merse is spot on with his analysis of Young. A hugely overrated player who has hardly any influence or control of games whatsoever. A couple of ' wonder' free kicks a season is not a big enough contribution in my opinion.

Sure we could have done better than Fallon but Nicholson decided not to offer Williams a half decent contract( or if he did Williams said no) and instead broght in a load of 'lame' ducks. Another example of his poor management I'm afraid.

Bromley v Torquay United Match Day Thread 12/9/17
Merse is right. The legacy left by Nicholson is dreadful and his claim that they would become a force to be reckoned with once they "bed in" is laughable. The only bedding in to be seen so far is in the sick bed where they are queuing up for places.
The only dim light of hope , Fallon excepted, has actually come from the loanees and our non contract keeper.
As far as Gary Owers is concerned I'm prepared to give the guy a fair chance. No point in slagging him off before he walks through the door. Although we all craved an experienced manager you have to ask who, of any real standing in the football world would want to go near this basket case of a club at the present time. None of the names bandied about by those 'in the know' found universal favour but I do feel that on paper Owers has at least a lot of half decent coaching and assistant experience and, I hope, a decent contacts book to go with it. Let's all hope he can pull us out of the mess we are in - a very tall order indeed.

Will you be boycotting on Saturday?
So, after a week of huffing and puffing, and enough hot air to hold a balloon festival is there actually going to be any sort of organised protest tomorrow? No. Thought not.

Can't argue with that but I feel the impact might just be worth the cash outlay. These last few seasons I've not felt I've had any value for money anyway so this will probably be the last time and it might just show the true depth of feeling and be worth the adverse publicity GI would get.

Or, walk out of the ground when the clock ticks round to the number of minutes that equates to the number of days it has been without a manager being appointed ( hope that makes sense). Probably 20 plus by Saturday I guess - somebody wiser than me will know the answer to that.
I have loved and supported this club for 60 plus years but my love affair is almost over - first post born from the sheer frustration and disbelief of the state we are now in.
