George Edwards

jono_Gull209 wrote: 29 Oct 2023, 14:12 He’s not a moron. He’d spent over a 100 quid on a day that saw us get rolled over by Hampton and Richmond!

We are 10th in Step 2. If this was a different club I could see it getting ugly - Edwards got off very lightly.

Also - a lot of the conversation wasn’t on camera.
Yes know where you are coming from and yes a lot of money to watch a team a few years ago had hardly heard of beating us easily.Frustration and disappointment is the new norm for the club so expect people to be angry but swearing at him isn't going to help trying to get answers, just makes him hide under a rock even quicker.

Yes doesn't help some moron swearing away but you can tell from his replies or lack of them that there is no interest in the club as a football team and as was known all along it's all about finance for housing as far as I can see which has backfired currently without the freehold and they're considering their next move which appears to be to finish the club off with the hope they can get their grubby mits in the ground for property.

Aveley F C vs Torquay United Sat 2 Sept KO 3pm

The last time the club was in this league the likes of Aveley and even Worthing would be easy wins, how times have changed!

GARY JOHNSON

The financial cost of getting rid of him would be the first nail in the coffin of the club and he won't resign . Osborne is astute and won't want to spend more than he has to do the way I see it is we have to hope things turn around on the field .After the last 18 months the prospects don't look good.

Managers press conference today

How he was employed by anyone in any capacity of management is unbelievable, I've never seen a more sullen , miserable man in such a position in any walk of life and that's when he won !

Managers press conference today

He had personality bypass apart from anything else so would turn a wedding event into a funeral, rent a misery, hardly ideal to give confidence to players.

Managers press conference today

Torquay in the league they've been demoted to should be a big fish in a small pool, anything less than immediate promotion would be a failure, let's face it Coco the clown managing the club would probably be able to gain promotion, I didn't mean GJ but the circus character.

Uncle Clarke part 812

One statement at the end of the season to state that he will keep the players on full time but apart from that the statement hardly instills confidence.Basically we will try our best to gain promotion next season.Must have taken so much thought to come up with that.
We will probably get a statement at the beginning of the season saying something to that effect and then the standard silence until the end of next season to roll out something else depending what our position is .

Could the 5 year plan be for the owner to hide himself under a rock for this duration and emerge when the club is defunct?

Uncle Clarke part 812

One of the main problems with any business is communication,if people are kept in the picture it helps to solve things before problems exacerbate. No doubt the owner has kept the club afloat but there is more feedback to the supporters from the crew of the Marie Celeste, which does not help matters on and off the field.

Torquay United Supporters Club

andrew candy wrote: 02 May 2020, 14:47 As the period of “lock-down” continues with no immediate resolution in sight, looking after ourselves and each other must remain the priority for us all. However, I think that it is also important that we maintain a positive frame of mind and use this time to think about ways that we, as supporters, might be able to help the Club when the new normality appears. Therefore, if anyone has any ideas or suggestions that might help us and the Club, then please let me know. I can then take these forward and see what can be achieved in conjunction with the Club. As soon as the moment is right, we will all be back at Plainmoor and hopefully, there will be many exciting occasions and events to look forward to. Until then, please stay safe and follow the Government’s instructions on social distancing.

Hello Andrew,
Hope you and your loved ones are all safe. How about a raffle where the prize is either a club shirt or football or a ticket to a home match which may get potential new supporters on board .It could be also advertised on Facebook and other media's by supporters on this site who could share it publicly and ask their friends to also so potentially reaching many people at no cost.

Yours sincerely

Graham

Corona Virus & Football

MellowYellow wrote: 15 Mar 2020, 00:51 Will the club not be insured for liabilities . e.g, event liability/cancellation to cover loss of revenue. ?
Would imagine insurance would only cover extreme weather or similar and exclude unexpected happenings like the corona virus, its worrying times for all small clubs
