opinions are like arseholes, everyones got one but let's not start telling people their opinions dont count and they are deluded if they contradict with our own. Life is way too short. And seriously some people need to sort out their haemorrhoids. Dont take anything that I've posted as anything more than tongue in cheek and a wind up

Compare the two starting 11's from 2nd Nov and yesterday.
Covolan, Cameron, Cundy, Whitfield, Reid started both games.
Started 2nd Nov - Davis, Wynter, Andrews, Vincent, Buse, Janneh
Started yesterday - Warren, Longridge, Hall, CLE, Lewis, Nemane
Southampton Gull - sounds like you're overplaying the injuries. I'm assuming you do attend enough matches to have an opinion on basis of seeing what's taking place. It was pretty obvious yesterday we were set up wrong about 20 mins into the game. The Keating substitution confirmed this

ok lets add poor management of squad and injuries to the list. Two injuries have caused problems, Wynter and Davis. Mainly because GJ has failed to solve the problem. Players played out of position into those positions, Jean Yves Koute being thrown in, the rotation of keepers has put panic into the defence for weeks. That's not caused by the injuries but the actions afterwards. We've had a merry go round of average loan signings.
If it helps you though....yes if it wasnt for the injuries and the decisions by the referee we'd be top of the league.

Torquay United v Halifax

Put 5 in the back, be conservative about pushing the wing backs forward and you will look better defensively but will be outnumbered further up the pitch. Struggle to see that this was a better performance than recent weeks.....felt like the same old same old.

Johnson out

5 at the back - slow to change formation and set up
Poor timing of substitutions
Merry go round of average loan signings
Dickson out on loan who would have done a decent job
Hall's lack of pace (only capable of sitting in front of back 4 with Evan's and Andrew's sat alongside)
Concerns about GJ but still wish to see him turn it around but a real shame that the season has fallen apart due to a couple of injuries and an inability to get the team back into shape

Agree with Merse on hoping that Nicholson is 2 years wiser. From reading between the lines on Nicholsons own comments he's struggled with;
Players not doing what he's asking of them
Players who haven't come out of academies of higher level clubs
Players who may lack ambition to play at a higher level
An over ambitious view of his ability to develop players
Players with varying levels of motivation

I'd like to think that he's learned to manage players in a more individual manner and players who have had a different footballing education to himself and ultimately may be lower level journeymen footballers where football is a job which pays the bills. At this level players aspirations may be varied but I'm guessing that many would see that the peak of their careers may be National Leagues and if they are lucky to scrape the odd season playing League football.

A number of the problems were down to the manager...on a personal level he's a smashing guy and was a decent player for the club. He was lucky that the club issues were a smokescreen to the fact that there was a squad that underperformed. This season will be a measure of his own development. If he's learned and progressed then we'll be on the up. He's in need of a mentor.

Let's hope it's not the Great Escape 3. Players and final day turn up fans celebrating like we've won promotion will be as pathetic as it was this season along with the chants of "Nicholson".

What's the role of the guy from Winners gym? That's been an odd one to me too.

I know nothing about how much Torquay pay players but if I'm a part time footballer outside Torquay earning £30k per year in my job and a few hundred pounds per week what's the incentive to come tor Torquay United? I have no idea what we pay players but can't really see how we are to attract a player other than out of local leagues or other full time clubs paying similar money.

the Tavistock player has scored lots of goals and has been someone who's been of interest to a few teams in the SW but has had some issues himself if it's the player I'm thinking of. He's definitely worth a trial.

Decent players who can score goals and decent forwards are rare in the National League. Kevin signed a player who reminded him of Berbatov and then was disappointed when Williams played like Berbatov. Hopefully Kevin has learned a few lessons that you can't change a player who is fully formed and that there's effort is no replacement for the ability to score goals.
