Confirmed New Signings for 2025/6

MellowYellow wrote: 12 Jun 2025, 21:52 This really is a statement signing. Will provide a real major boost in ambition and quality for our midfield and attack next season.
Are "marquee" signing? 🤣

On a serious note, great signing.

TUFC Club Lottery launched

Did anyone else get Mansfield Town on the bank statement when signing up for the 1899 lottery??

It's a little disconcerting...

New CEO

Sounds like we've managed to pull off a coup here and punching above our weight with Mark's appointment - shows the clubs ambition.

Transfer discussion 25/26

I thought we'd pulled off a bit of a coup in signing Mussa, and on paper should have been our best player, but his potential never really materialised for us.

And yes, as others have said, I'm sure he will come back and score against us and probably end up at a higher level too with the right support.

Shame not to see Moxey stay as part of the coaching setup but perhaps he has other plans.

Will be very interesting to watch the recruitment process this time around - I think we had a few hasty signings this time given we started with almost zero players, but with a reasonable core to build on, I hope we can be a bit more selective this time around.

Worthing v Maidstone

If Maidstone go to the final, is it on the 17th vs Eastbourne on 18th? How is this determined?

Playoff Semi Final Tickets

What's going on with tickets?

Have they sold out? It appears to be the worst ticket announcement of all time, basically the end of a tweet announcing that they'll be available from 10am today and no posts on the website until they have practically sold out!

Gutted! If anyone has any spares I need 2 for my dad and I.

Cheers

Also, I thought Threlkeld was more vocal on the pitch today which was positive. Interestingly almost every prior news article about him describes him as a defender (who later in his career has also played in defensive midfield) which is interesting because I could see him being far more commanding at the back

I can see goals in Cooke and Young

I don't think the problem is with the forwards, but rather the setup and the midfielders.

There is a desperate lack of creativity and pace in the middle, but I do believe we have it in WJD, Mussa and Hasani but for some reason we can't find a way to incorporate them into the line up. I agree it's one of Hayfield or Threlkeld, both both.

WJD's enthusiasm may mean he loses the ball here or there; but the tempo of the game is transformed with him on the pitch.

Mussa clearly has ability but we're not finding a way to get it out of him yet, but ultimately the shape has something to do with it.

There are makings of a good side there, but we've got to simplify the game.

PS according to the post match analysis this was Hamons best game for distribution which says it all, I left hoping he has a distribution trainer to help minimise wasted lumped balls up the pitch! It seemed like he was given the instruction to roll it out in the 2nd half which helped to materially change the quality of the build up and thank goodness he had the guts to stand up against the Truro goal.

Thankfully he's off and WJD on and it's a flat back 4

Hallelujah!
So where has Foulston been playing, it seems he's been at LB throughout? It looked like Carson was one of a middle 3 with Cooke, Young and Jeffers as a front 3

UnitedinDevon wrote: 16 Nov 2024, 15:55 But we don't have 3 in the middle it's 2 with threlkeld and Hayfield who are so slow

We need to move away from 5 at the back, Foulston constantly getting the ball but not knowing what to do with it

Carson with a very poor half

Jeffers looks disinterested
Well if it hasn't been Carson, Hayfield and Threlkeld as the middle three then I really have no idea what formation we're playing which says it all!

I'd much rather a see a simple 4-4-2 in the 2nd half with Cooke and Young as the front pair.

Young may as well be out there by himself at the moment

Warnock in the dugout and still absolutely NO midfield!

We have 3 in the middle who do not want the ball, nor run for it!

Is Wotton the person for the job.

With all the issues the club has been through I think some leniency and patience is required, and I'm in support at present though I am sceptical early on based on what I have seen both tactically and in approach.

I'm not a fan of the constant barking at players, sure give direction but at some stage you have to empower your players to take agency on the pitch. If some of that barking turned to encouragement I think I'd change my tune.

Will be interesting how we get on with Wotton confined to the stands today!
