When you talk about the Covenant are you referring to the Cary Estate? Because I am not sure there is one. Some time ago on this or another forum mention was made of a covenant with the Cary estate about Plainmoor being used for sporting purposes only. But the forerunner of Torbay council purchased the Plainmoor land when the Cary estate wanted to sell the land for house building. So if the Cary estate was prepared to see housing on the land why would they make a covenant restricting its use?tomogull wrote:I just hope the Covenant on Plainmoor is completely watertight. It beggars belief that after all these weeks we are not being told anything by either the Board or this Clarke Osborne character.

The European Union: In or Out?
What is becoming increasingly clear is the total irresponsibility of the leave campaign. After hoodwinking the electorate with barefaced lies, it is now clear that as the country faces break up and economic melt down they do not have a plan for going forward or have any idea of what is going to happen next

The European Union: In or Out?
It doesn't matter what way the vote, why?
1) if we vote to remain the tories will almost certainly replace Dave with a rabid europhobe who will likely win the 2020 general election with the promise of a new referendum.
2) if we vote leave, people will soon be moaning because things didn't turn out like their fantasies. The foreigners will still be here, gay marriage will still be legal, political correctness will still be prevalent, the British Empire will still be buried in the sand.

Katie's Final Rallying Call
That decides it for me, if Katie Hopkins says leave, I'll remain.Alpine Joe wrote:'If you do decide to vote remain be very clear. You have no right to complain you can't get a doctor's appointment or a place in primary school. In four years' time, all primary schools will be full.
You have no right to a view on the dearth of housing or the strain on the NHS. Because you sided with the people who said unchecked immigration is a positive thing for Britain.
If you are voting remain you have no right to respond to terror with sympathy; your hashtags, your sad faces and your vigils in a public square. The only thing I want to hear from you is 'I was wrong'. Because you voted with the idiots who said we are safer IN.
And if you are voting remain because you are worried about short term pain. Think about the cancer you diagnosed for this country'.

End of The Transfer Window?
Only confirmation I can find of this is the Kent online website where the Maidstone united manager varifies what you have reported. A common sense decision from the football authorities for a change.

A few people have mentioned not tying up money with a decent second choice keeper, but is the emergency loan still in operation for next season?

Thanks for that. I do not really understand finance and just assumed that a director of a company would automatically be a share holder in it.portugull wrote:Following my earlier post today I have now established the correct position in relation to Thea Bristow.
Thea is not a Director of Torquay United.
However Thea was appointed a Director of Plainmoor Ltd on the 24 March 2016. I imagine this is to protect Thea`s position in relation to any future property transactions which affect the club.
The Directors in Plainmoor Ltd number 7 in total but only 5 Directors hold Shares. Each of the 5 holdings are for 717,767 shares each holding representing 20% of the share capital.
What is interesting is that prior to Dean Edwards being paid off he held personally 1,435,536 shares in Plainmoor Ltd which were transferred to other Directors with effect from the 21 November 2015.
I hope this post establishes accurately the current position.

To be honest I didn't believe it at first, because the first mention of it on the TFF forum was by a troll from TUfans ltd. However another forum member posted the link to companies house. As for the BTPIR I only read that occasionally because I can't be arsed to log in to it. Yesterday was the first time in 3 months I looked at it and noticed an ongoing thread mentioning Thea.stefano wrote: I read all 3 forums. Clearly you do too, and you didn't think of mentioning anything about Thea either.

I do not think Thea would be pumping money in. She rejoined the board eight days after the GI deal was made public. What i would of thought is more likely that in the event of a sale she will try to recover some of the money she wrote off. After all why should Philips et al benefit financially from her generosity to the club. What I find odd is that some posters on this forum say they read all three forums yet Thea's rejoining of the board has been mentioned on TFF and BTPIR for weeks but has just been mentioned on this site.

Southampton makes a very good point. This season we have been told the budget is 400 grand. Does this mean at this point we, or rather Nico, actually has 400 grand in his pocket to spend, or does it mean the board is hoping to raise 400 grand over the course of the season? If it is the case of the latter, perhaps someone from the club can explain how this is to be achieved without shirt or stadium sponsorship, or are they hoping the GI is signed and sealed before too long?

This club has been running on empty ever since mike bateson decided to part with it. The bristow's money merely papered over the cracks, but be honest we didn't care because we thought the good times would never end despite there being plenty examples of clubs getting into trouble when misfortune befell their benefactors (Gretna being a prime example). The club is in the position it is now because of poor decision making over a long period of time, notably the failure to develop alternative income streams, which seems to be something that lies behind a number of successful non league clubs. We have now reached the stage where the future of the club depends totally on the outcome of the GI bid. If this fails to materialise then things could get really choppy. Unfortunately I do not know the best way for the fans to proceed, but if things do go tits up at least some people on this forum can console themselves by saying told you so.

Steve was a fan who became an employee and worked hard for the thing he loved. And by the sound of it was treated like shit. After that kind of experience I am not surprised he has lost his faith, it would be humiliating to go to Plainmoor and hand over your hard earned money at the turnstile knowing that the very people who shat on you are looking down from the directors box.lucy6lucy wrote:Running a football club is a unique business( I mean a manager gets sacked in the PL and gets 6 million payoff , who would be a manager, I would)it is ruthless and more than often these days it is out of touch with the real people the fans. I feel for Steve , but you surely cannot just stop supporting the team you love.
