Current opinions on Clark Osborne and Gaming International
I agree, much of the signs point to it being fishy. But honestly, was it worse than the alternatives? (Of course I'd love to see a rich millionnaire lifelong Torquay fan, or some mega billionnaire investor who wants to push us up the leagues. But they weren't exactly chomping at the bite when the club became available.)
Maybe I am being naive but Im trying to think positively about it

Current opinions on Clark Osborne and Gaming International
Hi gulls, Finally we are seeing an excellent string of results from our club. The board funded the change of manager and several decent signings (players & staff). Personally I never dreamt we would even pay out to sack Owers and get anyone better. I am pleasantly surprised.
I don't know everything there is to know about TUFC for sure, but I've been a regular at Plainmoor since the mid 90s. (I haven't been able to go for several years as I moved to Plymouth and pretty much skint all the time sadly, but I listen to every match on radio).
My feelings are we was skating on wafer-thin ice before Osborne came along (genuine fears we could have ceased trading IMO), and I for one am pleased with how he has helped us turn things around.
Just wondered if anyone else feels the same, and if not what is your reason for not liking him? (I'm aware he plans to move from Plainmoor if possible, but is that 100% a bad move???)

Who will be here next season in the NLS?
TUFC til I die! Can't make many of the games but always buy some merch and always listen to every match. I remember the most recent time we dropped to Conference League and the press all stating that Torquay fans can finally get used to winning more often than not! How wrong did that prove to be?!? Well the same can easily be said about Vanarama South, but tbh a lot of the teams in that league and below have smashed us out of various cup tournaments in recent years so I'm not expecting us to dominate or nothing.
That said, if we can keep the spine of what we have at this current moment alive I wouldnt write us off from bouncing straight back.
Furthermore, I'm not given up on us pulling of Great Escape 3.0 yet!!!

Eastleigh racism
Torquay Utd's team roster is as multicultural as can be . If there really are now racist elements in the crowd, I like to believe the old guard of true fans will soon stamp that out.
Im certainly no SJW or campaigner but racism is just seen as being pathetic thesedays

Very confused - what is GI's game?
its all speculation though. AFAIK know nobody here has proof that GI are going to redevelop the plainmoor ground into dwellings. Not one bit of actual proof, just hearsay and people reading the past dealings of the new owners.

royalgull wrote: 15 Sep 2017, 12:05 Don't think the generally negative response would be the same had it not taken TWENTY EIGHT days to come to this appointment, given the wait you'd like to think someone slightly more high profile may have been appointed. As it were it probably took a month of phonecalls and people laughing at the thought of reporting to a man as incompetent as Geoff Harrop to finally get someone desperate enough to accept this position.
Also enjoyed the press conference of that GI rimlicker Thomas getting a deserved flat bat response to some inane and poorly researched questions as is standard with this bloke. The podcast is dreadful, uninformative clichéd cobblers that never dares question the total shambolic way this club has been run and are more interested in asking such testing questions as who's the best captain or remember something that happened 25 years ago? as if it's relevant now when we have Jamie Reid playing for us.
Wish Owers and Kuhl all the best because ultimately it's the club's future that is in their hands because those above have already proven their incompetence and lack of care for this club, it's down to them and this group of bang average players to try and dig TUFC out of another self made hole of desperation, one which will never be challenged or questioned properly by the local media who are more interested in their free pass and invite to the end of season do than the welfare or interest of it's supporters who have suffered more than any set of fans of any professional club in the country over the last 10 years.
28 days?? So what? If they had taken 7 days people would accuse them of rushing it, or having already arranged it prior to the sacking. IMO 28 days is easily acceptable to make necessary decisions over the clubs future

Bristol_Gull wrote: 13 Sep 2017, 06:40 Whilst the circumstances behind the appointment are woeful; particularly with regards to the time that has been taken, the smokescreen coming out of the club and the lack of communication, it would seem that all signs are pointing towards Gary Owers being appointed.
He may not have the track record we want but I really hope that he has the ambition and ability within him to turn this situation around.
I'm sure we will find out today if Gary is taking helm and whilst I may not agree with the appointment in light of the experienced names that have been banded around, I've already vented my frustration and disappointment at the whole situation so I'll be getting behind Gary, or whoever takes charge and look forward to seeing some positive results in the near future.
COME ON YOU YELLOWS...
