TUST - Show Venom and a backbone
I’m sure more would be willing to volunteer for a fan-run club. The same goes for sponsors, and obviously the overheads in a lower league would be far less. It would be very difficult to self-fund the club at NL level, Chester had a few issues when they were up so NLS would probably be the ceiling without significant outside investment.

Any idea if a lease to Torquay United could be transferred to any potential phoenix club? I’m not sure if Osborne’s intentions are to bury the club, thus making the lease inactive and non recoverable…

About time this was brought into question. The Great Muta! wrote: ↑12 Feb 2024, 21:00 WestLondonYellow has a good point, fans and CO keep banging on about these MILLIONS he's put into the club?, really?,I think this figure isn't right, it's not on transfer fees is I?, the two FA cup tv games with gate receipts would of recouped a bit, plus previous other seasons to this one where we've done well with gates/tv games and transfer fees in general,so all this cobblers about 7million or whatever it is, I'm not buying it, it hasn't happened.

In my opinion, as a TUST member, they are being a little too cautious. What the supporters need is leadership! I’m not slagging the TUST off, they are very passionate individuals, but they could go a lot further in shining light on Osborne’s real intentions.

He has an unhealthy obsession with the word sustainability, I’m not sure he knows what it means.hector wrote: ↑12 Feb 2024, 17:26 I don’t disagree that Gary Johnson is part of the problem but he’s part of the problem because of the much bigger part of the problem.
Clarke Osborne has to be some sort of sociopath to continually move to see sporting entities removed from their stadiums. What sort of vulture and parasite does this to communities? The bloke is past the age of 70 with not a great deal of life left and is that seriously what he wants his legacy to be, someone who screwed communities over? What is wrong with him?

The fact Johnson is still in charge reinstates the lack of care from the ownership. Contingency plans need to be ramped up now. I’d donate a generous amount if I knew it was helping to build something, I donated to Chester’s ‘city fans united’ fundraiser back in the day that ultimately helped start Chester FC.

What’s the chances of having AFC Torquay up and running in time for the 24/25 Western League season? Surely the ground requirements aren’t that high at that level.

I won’t return to Plainmoor until the club is rid of Osborne, whatever that situation looks like. Decades of hardly missing a game. Anyone who understates the seriousness of the dire position the club is now in is deluded.

"The motives of the owner are well known. What are the motives of the manager? " They are aligned 100%, this is why Johnson is still in a job here, he is Osbornes method of delivering failure. The early success, it appears now, as a ruse to get people onside, cause confusion regarding the true motives and subsequently cause division and confusion in the fan base right now.
