Fans Forum - Wednesday 30th September
Thanks forever. I am grateful for your post. This last cluster of posts demonstrates I feel that there is still confusion about the position. I do think it is costing the club and its supporters in a variety of ways. I do ask the club if they can issue a statement clarifying the position.

I am a long time supporter and I therefore don't take too kindly to being branded with Mushroom and co. The garden leave situation is contributing to the restricted playing budget and our poor league position. Surely I am entitled to ask what is rumour and what is fact in relation to this matter.? If I have to be categorised as said I am generally supportive of the new board.

Did anyone enquire about the rumour of a Chris Hargreaves settlement at all last night? Paying effectively for two managers and potentially two coaches is obviously crippling and accounts I think for our league position and the threat of further relegation. I have every respect for the new regime at Plainmoor and for their clear bravery but I do think we are entitled to know as much as is legally possible about the situation.

Relocate Torquay?
Interesting suggestion but aren't Barrow a bit of a special case? The town is really tucked away by the Lake District and by Morecombe Bay. Torquay by comparison is almost mainstream!
Our training grounds have over recent years been well out of town nearer to the A38 than to Torquay. Personally given our situation I think we should be looking at developing more Exeter and Argyle players and Seale Hayne works well from that viewpoint.

If he could appoint Neil Warnock as assistant manager I think we might be alright.

Has North gone South then?! Just trying to cheer myself up.! I do worry we may be following him. No disrespect to Kevin or the club but it seems to me we are in really desperate times. The clubs at the bottom all look capable of survival. There are no lame ducks this year. If we can avoid relegation it will be a massive achievement with every credit due.

I presume Aspin will be on compensation from Halifax. If that is the case he may be in a similar position to Cox- but for longer.?
We need as much experience has we can possibly afford. Now is not a time for a gamble.

I wasn't there either but it does appear Neil Cox has left us with a real problem. I'm afraid Exodus hasn't performed as far as I am aware. When I have seen him play he has shinned it more often than he has cleanly cleared it and he will always be slower than this league. Maybe two years ago he had commanding games for Mansfield but he is patently struggling now- his timing is not there- I realise he may be carrying an injury but he has been a liability I think. To seemingly build a system round him has led to our current position in the league I feel. I am not massively worried, I do think we have put together some quite useful building blocks that can take us to mid table safety, but it is now time to be honest about this.

There are very few football clubs who don't involve people with big egos. It's normally the way most clubs survive!

Your walking has done you good Mushroom. You suddenly seem a much kinder and supportive person. The difficult thing with mushrooms is deciding whether they are food or poison.
