Mansell gone?

So has Mansell gone or not? If not why not?

I will concede he can do a perfectly adequate job for us in the conference but his presence has now become untenable IMO and regardless should be dispensed with respectfully at all costs. We need a new dawn at Plainmoor. His time is up.

Yellow Army in Brazil

I'm not going but one thing I've carefully observed over the years is that at tournaments, the flags you always seem to see at England games have lower league clubs written on them. Rarely do you see an England flag with CHELSEA or MAN UTD written on the front of it. They are probably more interested in their club than country and are in the pub in the Kings Road rather than at the tournament. Credit to lower league fans on that one!

Early bird season ticket deadline extended!

So long as I don't have more comebacks than Gary Barlow i'll be fine.

That 'documentary' he did when he 'met' Corden made me thank God I'm not famous and without brain.

I keep coming back because I like it and I know others don't. =D

It's a war of attrition GG.

World Cup Thread

This could be won by an outsider, even England. Forget about Holland, they have some bang average players now and some well past it, Germany and Spain I feel have slowed a little and mellowed out, France could be interesting with a lot of young talent and a manager in Deschamps who likes them to work as a unit, Brazil are the obvious ones on home soil but I've seen little from Neymar et al to suggest they are anything better than their European counterparts. Italy, like France have some promising youngsters and a more attack minded coach in Prandelli so could be a dark horse and I also like Chile but their group is horrendous. If they can get out then I can see them going far.

Then you get Belgium who are filled with young talent but will be getting their first real test together as a team, the usual boring run of the mill European nations like Russia and Greece as well as limited African nations too. Argentina at the likely odds appeal to me the most though as they haven't tasted success for a while now, are in their neighbours back yard so to speak and have some quality if you discount De Michelis. It is their time I feel but it wouldn't surprise me to see a French, Italian or even England win.

Early bird season ticket deadline extended!

Given that we've still got a lot of dead wood hanging about the place in terms of playing staff and nothing happening in terms of recruitment as yet I'd say not many. It's pretty much as you were since the day we got relegated from a personnel and public relations perspective which is disappointing. The early bird extension was a good idea but with nothing happening to urge those waverers to part with their hard earned I'd say they would need to extend it further and we may see some more sales when some additions start coming in or we manage to somehow shift the likes of Karl Hawley etc.

I think the re-signing of Billy may have some impact though................

Which merry-ground?

Ok so we've had closure and we face up to the challenge of the conference next season. I've been scanning through the internet to find out about the grounds of the clubs we will be facing and the actual places themselves and I'm really starting to look forward to it. Ok so if you look at the photos of Braintree's ground on that internet grounds guide site then you may think I'm deluded. I am anyway so what's new? =D

This no longer feels like a win but it feels like a really good adventure and although we've been here before, regaining our league status is not a forlorn hope and realistically it could happen sooner rather than later. Can you just imagine what that day will feel like when we finally achieve our league status back at the expense of Northampton?

For now though we get back to earth with a bump and begin the long slog, visiting minnows and challengers from all four corners of the country. Tiny Welling to the not so tiny Grimsby. Brash Brizzle to the chilled out Gloucestershire lot from Nailsworth. It's all in there and it will be a treat. Surely, surely, surely there cannot be any more football to come that is worse than Knill gave us? No. It's impossible.

So, please if you will. The top 3 away games you are most looking forward to next season. I know it will probably be none of them but let's spin the doom and gloom on it's head and eagerly anticipate next season as a test and an adventure to behold. We're in the conference and we've just got to make the best of it. You could opt for supporting Derby County if you wish but that would be silly. You'd soon come to your senses after reading the advice and posts from respected forum members. :)

The Derby project was pure folly. I've been all over the **** country supporting the total shower of shit that is TUFC and I'm not giving up now. The voices in my cranium have had words and the evil Derby side has been ousted by the good Torquay side. I know it makes sense. (Do I? How come? Someone made the decision on my behalf! ).

So - if anyone can be bothered - TOP 3 MOST ANTICIPATED AWAY GROUNDS / TRIPS NEXT SEASON!

Personally I'm looking forward to Alfreton Town. Seeing us play there would actually represent the lowest point of my Torquay support thus far. Alfreton literally is a large village with a Tesco and an Argos. Being there for our game will really hit home just what has happened. That said I'm prepared for it and will enjoy it and it's only 15 minutes away. :)

Grimsby Town. A battle royale this will be and so long as it's in good weather I can have a good old stroll along Cleggy 'sea' front beforehand and have some fish and chips in the leaking boot.

I was going to go for Dover Athletic because it's just bizarre but I'm not sure if I will be able to make it even though i'll try so I'm going for Braintree. Jesus. It's a non descript town in rural Essex that has a odd name and I'd never in my lifetime ever visit the place if it weren't for our fixture next season. I'm really looking forward to seeing what Braintree has to offer. :'(

Funfairs

£2.50 for hook a feckin duck!! :@

I asked if my little one could have a go for 50p but not get a shitty plastic toy dangerous to human health after and the bloke refused!!

All she wanted was to hook one, not get a prize. Bloody hell!

It was like the family fun day off Phoenix Nights this funfair. Shocking stuff.

They also had a massive inflatable bouncy slide and they charged £2.50 for 5 slides! My little one had a go but the bloke was actually physically counting and he approached me after the 5th slide to say time was up and there was nobody else on it. I wonder why?!!!

I put 20p in one of those grabber machines and won a **** minion from Despicable Me! Just what my little one wanted and I waltzed out of there singing so needless to say, I had the last laugh.

They don't know what to charge nowadays.

Politicians won't improve my life or indeed your lives. The only ones responsible for our lives are us. We should forget all about politics, let them get on with their lives and let us all get on with ours. Them and us are two separate entities, always have been and always will and no matter who we vote for EVER this will not change and neither will our lives because of it.

Matt is right about Farage, he's a penis (although Matt didn't say this exactly but you get my point).

They all are.

Pursuing something that you have no control over and can never change is a waste of time. Just like casting your vote.

I can't Luce, I keep trying but it won't have it. (I'm sure the mods have timkered with this internet thingy to make it that I can't log in - it's a conspiracy - they think I'm in with the illuminati, acting all thick and moody when in fact I partly rule the world   if I could log in under AAG I would but I can't :'( ).
