Is Sturrock our possible new Director of football
He's been to games this season so why was today any different!+Gdog8 wrote:All getting far to excited he was there today scouting , he was over heard asking what players are out of contract at the end of the season
What i will say though, its very difficult to scout and compile individual player analysis, sat in a directors box, chatting to people, positioned directly behind a goal!

Torquay v Kidderminster
A massive moment in the game that did not go unnoticed by me either.nickbrod wrote:Should have added the most important tackle of the game was Dawson on Hughes who was about to bury a shot past Rice which would have given Kidderminster a win. A game saving moment.
A word on the ref too. Without sounding patronizing, not only did he look like a kid so crap at sport that his parents saved his blushes and their cash by not buying him any proper football boots at school.
Wearing 'Clarkes attackers' today confirmed my suspicions.
NOT GOOD...

Don't feel you have to explain anything to anyone Glostergull.Glostergull wrote: At the risk of being accused of hijacking the thread. Total and utter Pollox. (yup fishy puns not dead yet). stick that up yer Kyber and smoke it.
You know full well that all these players were signed on the understanding that they would be going if someone bid the going rate for them,. that was not the board trying to get their money back quickly it was the players making their own minds up how much they wanted to be paid. the board wanted to keep them. there was absolutly nothing that you can point to that tells anyone that the board were selling to get their money back quickly. I might as well accuse you have fathering Doris. at least some on the pop side could actually visualise that. after all we still think he's your love child.
The fact only a couple of people have picked up on this thread speaks volumes.

And here we are in the f*ckin' non league . . .
All of these players could have stayed at Plainmoor as they were all under contract, but understandably each opted to advance their careers and cash in on the benefits of a transfer. Thats the dark side of football these days unfortunately.
Its no good blaming a group of supporters who stumped up a few quid each to stop our beloved club from folding in its hour of need. They should be thanked, and none more so than by you, coz if it wasn't for them you would have no one to moan at.
By the way: unbeaten in 8, scored 15 let in 2, playing the best football seen at Plainmoor for years with a pretty young side..
Back to lurking ( laughing mode ) for me on this forum.
Unbelieveable post!

Torquay United v Nuneaton Town – Saturday 6th September 2014
I didn't get a very good view of the first one, but the second IMO was the correct decision. The defender did well and stayed strong, `no pen.ferrarilover wrote:There were at least two divisions between the sides today. If we'd have had a sensible referee, we'd have had at least two pens to add to the four goals. Ask yourself this, ref; if a striker is two yards out with only the keeper to beat and no defender coming, why would he dive to win a penalty which would no nothing more than force him 10 yards back?
Matt.
The irony being only moments later when a similar challenge was made by Tonge on the halfway line, it was deemed to be a foul.
And what a pigs ear he made of the sending off. He should of got a steward to escort him off rather than do it himself.
There was no united player within 40 metres so there was no need for him to do it!

I posted negatively this afternoon and now am admitting I was wrong today and I have been proven to be wrong. I can't hide, my posts are there in black and white. I presumed defeat and we won for which everyone deserves credit when it goes right. Glad you enjoyed it anyway. It must have felt good even given the circumstances overall. Pleased for everyone that went today.
Any credit to the Manager and his players then?

It just goes to show how fickle some football fans are. Those berating both the manager and his players - posting while watching on the radio this afternoon - seem to have vanished temporarily! Today's victory may well turn out to be academic, but for those who daren't go today for the fear of being relegated by Exeter, look at yourselves.
I enjoyed it ....

One of the very few advantages of being a season ticket holder i suppose.arcadia wrote:It's funny how it works out but the supporters who did not turn up for the last few games have missed the best games of the season.
Hope the crowd improves for the weekend but being an all ticket game is a joke.
Obliged to attend every game, you get the chance to see the good, bad and the ugly.

Losing to both Accrington and Northampton was enough to convince me we are doomed; the last 2 home games have been OK.frenchgull wrote:Can we just accept that we are now a conference team.Always on the cards so now just enjoy that rest of the season without stress and build and get ready for a quick start to next season. No recriminations just lay back and let this season disappear and look forward to the conference.
I haven't seen a police dog inside plainmoor for years and Luton's ground is more than fit for purpose. We shouldn't be looking forward to next season, but getting ourselves ready to embrace it!
