Anyone fancy standing for our MP as a 'Save TUFC from GI' candidate?
I am a fans forum member but not a TUST member.
I just thought it would be a good idea that's all but if you don't then fair enough.

It's not a case of not being bothered to do it myself soupdragon. A request coming from the administrators of a message board that has a large membership could be used as a tool if such meetings were ever to take place.
Talking of tools it's little wonder I rarely post on here.

As an individual I could. As an individual I could speak to the candidates. This is about doing things collectively.

Anyone fancy standing for our MP as a 'Save TUFC from GI' candidate?
In such a marginal seat with only a couple thousand votes between the two main contenders last time around our votes could be crucial.
I suggest we place our faith in the officers of the TUST. Get both favoured candidates to meet with the TUST hierarchy to share their thoughts on this issue. Hear what they all have to say and on recommendation we ALL campaign for whoever makes the more favourable manifesto pledge with regards to our beloved club.
I dare say the candidate who can come up with the assurances to save our club would win in such a tight seat with the fans of TUFC deciding the result.
Any thoughts?

Let's Save Our Club!
It would be good if the Mayor and fellow Councillors were to attend on Saturday. Not sat in the Directors box but amongst the fans. Only then will they get to understand how important our club is to the various sections of the community that attend Plainmoor regularly.
Can someone put contact details for the councillors involved on here ASAP so i can contact them individually.
A little bit of corporate hospitality from us all on the popside would be an excellent idea.

Torquay United V Woking-Tue 18TH
Why did he position himself as close as possible to the popside when restarting the game after the sub-gate affair and stay on the pitch for so long after the final whistle, other than to get the attention of everyone in the ground?portugull wrote:The best refere asidees you simply do not notice.
The worst referees are the ones who are determined to be the centre of attention and decide they are more important than the players.
Huxtable is without doubt the worst referee I have ever seen in 60 years. In fact he gets worse by the match.
The officials were lamentable tonight and that is an understatement.
Probably to get more coverage on forums like this to which he probably subscribes to late at night and in the dark...

Torquay United V Woking-Tue 18TH
Once the dust settles I suspect the series of events to be explained as follows:
The TUFC bench put No 17 down on the card instead of the intended No 7 by mistake.
The forth official displayed the correct numbers on his board and the substitution process began.
Moments before Fisher left the field of play the forth official was notified verbally of the error by the Torquay bench but did nothing to prevent the player leaving the pitch.
Fisher left the field of play to be replaced by Heslop, therefore the substitution will be deemed to have taken place.
Leaving the referee exempt from any criticism for following the letter of the laws of the game and TUFC fined heavily and all punishments upheld.

A great talent but sadly he is not up to the rough and tumble environment of lower league football.
As crazy as it seems, in a half decent championship team he would probably do well.
With his disruptive international career now probably history, I hope he can earn himself a contact on merit and do well for himself.

Academy yes or no
I wonder just how many players have been denied a glamorous career as a professional footballer by this unpopular but necessary decision? By the sounds of it Hundreds, but in reality, not one!
I was speaking to a parent of a player who was released at the end of last season. A very good player, but like an ordinary school leaver, the time had come for him to face up to the real world. He accepted it and moved on.
What this has done is provided a great excuse for some people to divert blame. If only the Academy was still going me/my son would be playing for England.
Dream on...
