Torquay v Hartlepool 28/10/17

desperado wrote: 27 Oct 2017, 08:07 Looking for another 4 points from the next two home games which would be a good return
but tomorrow could be a 1-1 draw, we must not lose
Exactly right ! I said we needed 7 points from 9 before the Ebsfleet game or we would be deep in the shit. I got slated for suggesting that those next 3 games were so important but we all know that with the Fa cup week looming we would have been in a perilous position going into December without them.
The rot has been stopped and I feel That tommorow is our best chance of 3 points on the back of the midweek win.
COYY !!!!

tomogull wrote: 24 Oct 2017, 22:39 There is a difference with being nice to each other and not treating other members with contempt because you don't agree with their opinions. Actually, you're a very good example of what I'm trying to get at. I haven't always agreed with some of your postings, and I'm sure you haven't agreed with all of mine. But you have never treated me, or anyone else as far as I am aware, with contempt and I hope that you don't think I have ever sniped at you.

And to Westyorkshire Gull - YES, I fully agree - everyone has the right to express their opinions on the forum and it is good that they do so. That's what makes the Forum 'tick'. I also look forward to reading everyone's views. But they have the right to express their opinions without receiving aggressive responses (usually in bold text) from someone who obviously considers himself to be superior.
You are spot on with this . :goodpost:

all about interpretations and opinion.
I'm sorry to say that all the internet research suggests that Faggots are a Midlands and latterly Welsh dish.
I can't argue with the fact that they are tasty with gravy however mushy peas are the fodder of our brethren situated on a more northerly latitude aren't they ? ( I'm not really 100%sure)

obviously you weren't there....
I can assure you it was worth it - the team played well and it was the least they deserved in difficult conditions in the 2nd half.
Point taken ( pardon the pun )

That's the thing about opinions isn't it ?
We are all entitled to our own regardless of how different they may be from others.
And we are all entitled to express an alternative with reasoned arguement to back it up.
Posters who resort to personal snipes such as suggesting someone may need help with maths or other sarcastic vernacular needs to have a look at themselves.
Just remember there may be those that do have issues and would be offended. But I doubt you would care anyway by the sounds of it !

merse btpir wrote: 21 Oct 2017, 23:32 What on earth are you talking about?

The deficit is six points to be made up over thirty games which carry a maximum of ninety points in case you cannot do maths. The goal difference when set against Guiseley is only one worse. It's not even November!

I would say anyone from Tranmere down have cause to worry and a good few above them who could get into a free-falling rut over the rest of the season. Leyton Orient and Barrow are the worst performing of those just above the drop zone over the last five games.
While I get your point about making up the deficit over thirty games blah blah etc etc it seems you seem to have pesumably either ignored what I was saying or simply overlooked it. It's my opinion and I'm sorry if it offends you in any way that we need 7 points from nine in out next 3 games to start the latest escape tunnel.
You will notice I have stopped short of suggesting that you cannot read as to do so may unnecessarily offend and in essence would be a twatish thing to do.

We only have to finish 5th bottom. And we will.

You know you are right !
I don't know what came over me . I seem to be looking at this purely from a footballing point of view and ignoring the obvious.
That being we do this every year and somehow manage to pull it off.
To finish 5th from bottom we need to pick up proper points and not Tesco club card points or in the world of fantasy Hogwarts house points.
All I am saying is that we need points on the board in a dramatic fashion ASA bloody P......

Danny Racchi ... who knows his stuff in my opinion alluded to the fact that we had the better players and system. He also said that in the final third we just lose our heads with no idea on what we are doing.
If this was the first game of the season I wouldn't be too disappointed but it wasn't , and I am.
We've got no chance if we cant turn over Halifax who are NLN fodder at best.
That will have done nothing to boost confidence given the situation we are in.
A point is not worth getting out of bed for......we need 7 from 9 points in our next three games or we are not coming back from this.

Is it possible that there is method in the madness of it. If we had agreed to a set loan period with ..those who shall not be named... then by signing him for that period with the option of extention etc would free up another loan spot. If thats not the thinking then they really do have an eye for talent .................. i will get my coat....,

Neville Southall of course. An absolute legend and a top bloke to boot. I couldnt believe he came here and did what he did for us.
