The agony of losing a injury time goal, on reflection we must remain positive.
1. Crawley should have won so a draw for us would have meant next weeks match giving us no chance...we are still in it
2. A win yesterday would still have meant we had to win at Hereford as Southend will win next sat, regardless of Crawley result
3. Accie getting hammered against the gas doesnt bode well for next week, but they will be on the rebound and that is fact after hearing their managers post match comments
4. If we do get pipped by Crawley and Southend then we have Cheltenham in the playoffs, I would prefer them than Crewe(unlikely to be Oxford)
5. Would you taken this scenario in July??? ...hmmm yes i think so, so lets be positive
5. This is Torquay, did we really expect things to go smoothly, it will be some match next Saturday, I can see red cards in this match and at Accrington. Its game on and even if we dont do it, we still the playoffs

Last throw of the dice
I like most want our promotion campaign to go to the wire, albeit from a point I have already got my tickets and hotel booked. If Howe is running on empty give Atieno a start and just go for it we have nothing to lose now. We just need to match Crawleys result on Saturday for what will then be a immense final day, just hope we dont both lose and Southend win, that really would be a slap in the face, if we both draw its wont be the end of the world as it would be the same if we both won. Gut feeling is that we will win. If we are out of it come Saturday night, Ling will need to rest players for the Hereford match and then go for it in the playoffs. This is really so exciting, so can we do it surely the lads have had rest and we be up for it???

Yet more twists
With Southend winning Friday yet more twists can happen:
1 Hereford regardless of result against Northampton, will go Crawley not relegated
2 Southend could by next Saturday be 3rd
3 We need to beat Wimbledon to prevent Southend gate crashing the last auto spot
Isnt this just exciting times?

Are we going up automatically?
Having read many posts and comments its really hard to establish how we would vote if it was an election? Personally, I think Crawley are bang on form, but thats not being negative just being realistic. The playoffs are a different scenario so theres no point talking about them until we are either in them or who we face? So members what are your gut feelings going into the last 3 cup finals respond YES or NO, will we go up automatically come the 5th May?
I think Crawley will W 2 and draw 1
I think Torquay will W2 and lose 1(Crewe)
So my response is NO

Re: funny how it's worked out isn't it?
In respect to us playing Hereford last match, we also played them on the last day in our relegation to the conference(o-o at plainmoor if i remember), incidently was anyone at that match and how did their supporters behave, ie did they give us stick?

The Curse of Evans
Is it me or is this guy a curse on this club? Apart from our match history, being denied a trip to old trafford in the fa cup and our pure hatred to this man. And then he leaves Crawley, like many we all thought this was great and Crawley would crumble.....This has only inspired Crawley and probably denied us auto-promotion, I am sure if he hadnt left we would be promoted? Any thoughts on this

Re: Crawley v Northampton
Interesting to hear Jake Robinson wants to save his season and possibly his job, lets hope he scores a few. On the betting front Crawley where 4/9 on sat, they are now 1/2. Not much of a change but at least the bookies have widened the odds of a home win. Northampton on sat where 5/1, now 9/2

I use my daughters name as my login for good luck. But as for the rest it could happen, you never knowNickGull wrote:Wow, Lucy (I assume is your name?!), didn't realise that's our best case scenario. Re: Tuesday Night Games
Lets put the playoff talk on hold until Saturday, worst case scenario on Saturday is we are 3pts behind Crawley, best case is we only need a point for auto promotion. COYY. If Wigan can beat Man Utd why cant Northampton do the same to Crawley

Re: Us, Shrewsbury and Crawley
I can see Crawley dropping pts at D and R and accie, but the other 2 they will win, so that puts them at least on 85 we have to win at wimbledon otherwise its the playoffs. It is unlucky with our pts total so far to not already be promoted, but I guess we had our luck last year getting into the play offs with the least amount of pts before! We will know an awful lot more come Tuesday night. Just hope Northampton are up for itPlainmoorRoar wrote:Its 2 from those 3 for the remaining 2 auto spots, just thought i would see what peoples predictions are and then the points total
Crawley V Northampton D
Dag Red V Crawley D
Crawley V Hereford W
Accrington V Crawley D
Total 6 points - 83 overall
Wimbledon v Torquay D
Torquay v Crewe D
Hereford v Torquay W
Total 5 points - 85 overall
Shrewsbury v Port Vale W
Accrington v Shrewsbury D
Shrewsbury v Dag & Red W
Wimbledon v Shrewsbury D
Total 8 points - 89 overall

Re: torquay united v southend united - 14/4/2012
After reflection its hard to be downbeat on yesterdays results, we could have won, but equally Crawley should have won which in theory would have made no change to the actual table we see at present. I have always said Shews would be 2nd behind Swindon, so its now between us and Crawley for the 3rd spot. Another sent off and another 3 match ban, so they are really having to re-structure their squad. Glad Northampton lost as they will be bollocked and have to prove themselves come Tuesday. Tuesday in my opinion will be decisive in our season. Come on Northampton. On the positive for us is many chances Crawley had with 10 men, so with 11 gulls nest week it could be a real chance to rectify the goal diff scenario

As stated it is not going to cause him damage playing, it just needs doing pre-season, so what better time to have it done when sat on a beach as a league 1 player sipping Mojito's
