Re: andy is back, hello!!

Welcome back Andy. I am So pleased you are posting again. I find ALL of your posts interesting and entertaining! I really like your analogy about road rage too. I am going to adopt your thinking on this because it makes a lot of sense. Thank you 'Sigmund'.

I thought Mrs Bristow came across as honest and down to earth. More power to her for not denigrating Martin during the interview. How refreshing to hear someone speak positively about the future without slagging off the previous incumbent. She made it clear she did not want to answer questions about Martin's tenure at TUFC. Whether that was because of fear of litigation or plain good manners, it matters not. In this age of slick spin, I thought Mrs. Bristow spoke from the heart. Well done to Mrs Bristow.

Re: New Chairperson

Interesting turn of events. Exactly the same thing has happened here in Oz. The CEO (equivalent to chairman) of the Melbourne football club (aussie rules footy) stepped down today after the team was thrashed in the first 2 games of the season. The coach (manager) has kept his job. The reason given for the CEO leaving was the supporters lack of belief in his ability. I thought the buck stopped with the manager when team performance was woeful, but seems not. At least it only took the first 2 games of the season here, rather than many months for TUFC.

Secret squirrel stuff happens on boards I suspect. The fans are never given full disclosure.

Just thought I would share this to provide a comparison. :)

Ah yes SG, That was in Melbourne. The sun never shines in Melbourne. In fact, serves them bloody right. They stole the grand prix from us (Adelaide).

Re: Any update on Lingy?

IMHO if Martin's problem was depression, there is absolutely no reason why he can't make a full recovery and return to being the manager he was last season. No event or series of events can necessarily 'cause' depression, and with appropriate treatment during his time away from TUFC (which he is probably receiving), a relapse is not necessarily a risk. We all applauded his managerial qualities last season. They will still be there in him, and once he has recovered, they will emerge again. :scarf:
