Re: Saints on tuesday

expecting a loss realistically but im hoping the players are professional enough and optimistic enough to believe otherwise.

im going along anyway. hoping they give it a go and see what happens, even with the bristol game coming up so soon after.

Re: Thanks To Fans

i do actually think that buckle, especially in the conference years, made a point of coming across and there were several occasions where a number of players were involved in post-match arguments/discussions and buckle would interrupt and point/shove them in the direction of the fans. its always nice to be appreciated.

Re: TQ1 (new matchday mag)

can i just clear up in my original post i wasnt implying i wont be buying it because of the cover/logo. ive bought a programme at every game (bar one or two omissions) ive been to since 1993. this will be no different. i just think the logo looks a bit naff. looks like something from a 1980s instructional video. hopefully most of the effort has gone into the content, which is the right way around for sure. looking forward to reading it.

Re: Tickets For Bristol Rovers

^ thanks.

this will be only my second away game but the first was rotherham last year and although there was more of them and we got beat, we were the louder crowd. i dont expect that to be the case again, but hopefully no matter where people are sitting/standing, they will be up for some good old fashioned shouting.

TQ1 (new matchday mag)

sounds like it might be worth a read. logo is a bit naff though if thats the finished design.

any thoughts?

Re: Probable line up vs the Brewers

I'm thinking:

Olejnik

Oastler
Saah
Robertson
Nicholson

Macklin
O'Kane
Mansell
Morris

Howe
Kee

This depends on Kee's knee injury, which hasn't really been mentioned anywhere so can't be too bad.

he did. but as an optimist im going to try and remember the way he found a good position and timed his run well, before rounding the keeper with a good touch, rather than the way he found the wrong side of the net at the near post. shame really.

Re: Squad average age

nothing to be concerned about, we've had low average ages for a while, particularly since buckle took over.

Re: Has Ling pulled the wool over everyones eyes

people need to chill out.

he's been in charge for what, a month? and in that time we've played one (pre season) game, in which two completely different sides were fielded. you can hardly base anything on that.

i actually like our black shirt, i much prefer it to the endless stream of boring white/blue away shirts we've had recently.

Re: Martin Rice

I think given our budget a signing like this one is/was inevitable. But to be honest I would hope most people will consider that both McPhee and Rice have spent time away from the club and are unlikely to be carbon copies of the players they were. I am not suggesting for a second they should walk into the team, nor are they really exciting signings, but both should get a fair chance to impress, just as a completely new face would.

Sounds good BUT where is this rumour coming from (directed primarily at the OP)? I mean, how likely is it?
