'Torquay exile here and been in Bury many years and been supporting them to long for my sins! You've got a good double act in Knill and Brassy wish they would come back here! Actually bumped into Brassy in Manchester this weekend and he said he was loving being back in South Devon ( I remember his loan playing days!!) said he was doing job for nothing as he remembered chance Torquay gave him as a youngster and didn't want to see them go out of the league!'
There was a RUMOUR going round that Brass was not receiving any money; maybe this one was true! Even more credit to him then!

Re: Yeovil Town
Quote from one of the Cardiff fans on their forum in response to the question of how much debt they're in : ''d guess we now owe Tan over £65m and Langston £24m so total debt probably close to £100m
I'd expect us to make a profit next year as long as we don't spend more than £25m in the transfer market and don't spend any money on new training ground (£10m in Tans plan) and stadium expansion (£12m in Tans plan).
If we stick to this I'd expect our debt situation to get no worse next season. It could potentially get a lot better if Langston gets sorted for less than £24m and Tan starts converting some debt to equity but I don't hold out too much hope for movement on this.' WOW!!!!!!!

Re: Torquay United V Bristol Rovers 27th April 2013
Just been reading the Argyle fans' forum....they appear all to be much more worried than we do; they're bemoaning all the bad luck they've had this season, & crucial recalls of loanees ( they had 7 didn't they? And we were all jealous?). We're much more upbeat than they are, most of them seem to think they're doomed! Awww !

'Oh United! The best team in the land! Oh UNited! You've really got things planned! You've got the skill, you've got the fight & that should see us through! Torquay Division Two!' THink I've got the words right; Dick Edwards' promotion song (sometime between 1970 & 1973) when we were trying to go up out of Division 3 (equivalent of today's League 1 & Div 2 would be today's Championship). The days before TV & silly money came along; & we used to sing about crowds of '20,000 strong' as well!

Re: Martin ling
I wish that this thread had not been started. We were all upbeat about being only one point away from safety, almost there; in fact, we might already be safe. Our players have learnt to fight again, & we've been getting used to supporting them in full voice & enjoying the football. We weren't even hugely downbeat about not having Rene for the final game. Now we're all fighting again, & a lot of us are downbeat or even angry that Martin Ling might be returning because we don't want to watch his 'style' of football again. I just wanted to look forward to the game on Saturday. Bad thread.

Re: Next Weekend
Wombles have 50 points; if we lose & they win (& other results go against us, including a Daggers/York draw) we'll go down; if we draw & they win, they'll be saying Cheerio with their gd being worse than ours.If we draw or win, it doesn't matter what the others do! Your maths is fine Dave! COYYs!!!!

Re: Simultaneuos Kick Offs
Unless our match is delayed of course....it took a long time for all the Barnet fans to get into Underhill for the last time; I'm not at all suggesting that Torquay fans could walk slowly...& then there's going to be all the Rovers fans trying to get in as well (get there early is my advice, parking's going to be interesting!).

According to the OS Ashley was born on 25th February 1992; Billy was born on 24th March 1992. I'm sure that the four weeks makes all the difference.....

Re: Ideas for Mr Candy
I mentioned this on another thread a while ago ! But that screen is so under-used in terms of match information...it just tells us the score & we know that! Maybe it could display the scorers as well? Don't always hear the announcements (hopefully because of all the cheering!) 'cos the PA system isn't brilliant! Sometimes better than it used to be...

Re: Torquay United v Barnet - 16/4/13
Brilliant night. Had to give away a trip to Heathrow so that I could attend!!! So glad that I did! Very very happy! We didn't give in once, we fought back again & again. Absolutely exhausted from cheering & clapping & singing. And texting 4 people who couldn't be there. COYYs! Really really good to see the players so happy when they scored & Manse ecstatic at the end.

Re: Plainmoor is my Mecca
'Oh, and by the way, Taxilady. I never heard back from PB on that number you found me'. If i did get the 'right' Bastard, then he may have driven down already before you left your message; & he may be staying down for Tuesday, having already made the effort ! If you want a lift on Tuesday night off the Megabus Joe, just let me know!Contrary to what you've posted, I actually couldn't find many Bastards up North, so Andy can quieten down!!!
P.S. I'm suggesting the Megabus on the assumption that Mr Candy won't be able to justify the use of the 'other option' twice in a week?
