Season Ticket pricing.

This is how I see the Price Rise.

As a Senior I bought my Season Pass today as an Early Bird retaining my seat in Bristows for £349. Cost £15.17p per game.

The increase based on 52 weeks works out at 82 pence per week after a 3 year price freeze. I am not complaining.

I pay about £15 per game against £20 per game for a full price ticket in Bristows. I get 25% off. Very fair in my book to support my lifelong team in their quest to return to the EFL.

Transfer discussion 25/26

Well I think Paul Wotton is saying I believe in a lot of my players who came so close to pulling off the Title and with many of the best players under contract it was not to difficult to make a few decisions.

Deano I shall miss big time. A wonderful career. Never have I seen a player read the game as well as Deano. All the best Deano it has been a joy to watch you at Plainmoor.

Oscar Threlkeld hughly dissappointing player. Mussa sorry but a very poor performer most of the time. What a waste of talent he just does not know how to play as a Team Player.

Brad Ash in reality is not big and powerful which strikers need to be in the modern game. A poacher of goals but lacking power.

Football in the NLS is played by big, pacy, very fit guys and we need pace in the team next season. Skill is important but BW showed us you need pace and power to be the best.

It would be ironic if Maidstone who came 7th beat BW in the Final. I hope BW prevail.

End of term report

My thoughts on 2024/25 Season.

Most enjoyable game. United 4 WSM 2 on 26th November when we had 10 men from the 48th minute. Worst Home performance losing 1-2 to Chesham on 5th April.

Player of the Season. Sam Dreyer. Goal of the Season. Matt Jay a Worthing on 11th Feb. Very rare you see such a goal executed to perfection from 45 yards?

To end the season with 9 wins from the last 11 games was outstanding. I do feel on reflection not being Promoted might at this time be a blessing in disguise.

The current squad is not good enough to compete in the NL. I know we will be recruiting this summer but we are so weak in crucial areas of the pitch and against experienced players fielded by Boreham Wood it was evident from early doors that we were going to struggle.

In Football sometimes only 2 or 3 players can make a huge difference to a team. Going back over the years players like O'Kane, Mansell, Branston, Hargreaves are the type of player who influence the whole team and usually operate in midfield. Our biggest issue is attracting players to the South West.

However there are a lot of Agents saying to their players if you want to play in front of 5,000 and not 900 Torquay United is the Club to join.

I feel sure Paul Wotton has a shopping list already because he knows better than anyone who will be moved on and who he would like to recruit if, and it is a big if, they become available.

Finally to the Yellow Army you are a credit to Football and to Torquay United. The best Fans in the Country.

Torquay United vs Boreham Wood

Having just watched the highlights it was only a very good one handed save by Ashmore in the final minutes of added time which prevented a Jordan Young equalizer.

Overall our young side looked second best in the first half when Boreham Wood looked quicker and very determined to impose themselves on the game.

Our lack of pace in the mid field, as has been the case all season, meant we did not have a controller or ball winner resulting in poor service to Cody Cooke.

Paul Wotton knows exactly what we need for next season and both he and the team should feel proud of themselves.

This was a super human effort by a new squad put together in record time by Wotton and although we failed to gain promotion it was certainly not due to a lack of effort.

The Drama of the next 49 Days in the NLS

When I started this thread on 9th March we had 9 games to play and I predicted we would finish on 90 points which I thought at the time would win the Title.

Well we now know we won 7,drew 1 and lost 1, at home to Chesham, accumulating a magnificent 22 points out of 27 and finishing with 89 points losing out to Truro City on goal difference.

Congratulations to Truro City on an amazing achievement in reaching the National League for the first time in their history.

Congratulations to Paul Wotton on a runners up spot with a team assembled in record time after we survived dissappearing into oblivion as a Football Club.

To the players what an amazing effort & I still think you can do it and expect a sell out crowd next Saturday assuming it is Saturday and not Sunday.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the Bryn Consortium for saving us at the 11th hour. COYY.

Well what a tricky one to predict. I cannot decide between 1-3 and 1-4 !!

I think the 2,000 Gulls will roar us on to glory so I go 1-4.

The Drama of the next 49 Days in the NLS

Well you could not make this up.

With just 2 games to go it is so tight made more difficult to estimate by Worthing v Dorking and WSM v Truro on Monday. If both games are drawn we would be Top on Monday night if we beat Weymouth.

It would then go to the final game. Torquay and Worthing both away and the other 3 at Home.

Our goal difference with Truro is Truro 28 and Torquay 25. We are due a big home win lets hope it is on Monday v Weymouth already relegated.

I think we can be Champions if we win both games. Hemel Hempstead are in good form only 1 loss in last 5 games.Exactly one week to go as we approach 5pm today. COYY
