brucie how many times did you see Jarvis play?
In 6 years prior to playing for Scunthorpe he played just 52 games scoring 4 goals. In 2 seasons 2020 to 2022 he played 32 games for Scunny netting only 4 goals.
In his first year at Plainmoor in 37 games he scored 15 goals and last season in 19 games he netted 9 goals which I think included at least 5 pens.
Now I accept playing with Frank Nouble at Yeovil he might come good but I would not bet on it and of course can he stay fit?
I have nothing against him but I will be very surprised if he suddenly becomes a prolific striker at Yeovil.

Squad 2024/25
The 9 players signed up including Austen Booth and Finley Craske have an average age of 24 with Threlkeld at 30 the oldest followed by Collins at 29 and Hamon at 28.
Very good progress this week with building a new team. I hope Dean Moxey signs and Brad Ash. Ollie Tomlinson needs a very good coach and Paul Wotton could be the man to fix his game.

TUST Updates
To Fans of a certain age who follow Cricket the 3 WWW's who appeared at a Torquay Cricket Festival in 1958 were Worrell, Walcott and Weekes, 3 of the greatest Test Match Players of all time all of whom played for West Indias and who all came from Barbados.
I still have my old Autograph book and the first page has Eric Webber, Mervyn Gill, Dennis Penford and Eddie Marsh again I guess late 1950's anyone remember them? Mervyn was our Goalkeeper and Eric Webber our longest ever serving Manager over 14 years!

A big thank you to Griffin for posting the BBC Radio Devon interview with Michael Westcott which was broadcast yesterday.
I would strongly recommend that all posters on this Forum listen to the interview with James Richardson of BBC Radio Devon. It lasts just under 10 minutes and is excellent.
Every question was answered in a clear and precise manner and you could tell very quickly here was a man who chose every word carefully but honestly and did not duck any questions.
Neil Warnock will be a Director and Football Advisor but will not be in the Dressing Room or the Dug Out.
The New Football Manager will be annouced on Tuesday 14th May.
It seems like for 2024/25 we will have a mix of Full Time Pros and Part Time Players.
The Link is the 3rd Post on this page above. Thanks again Griffin.

Just the news we have been waiting for.
Although we await the detail next week this looks very positive indeed and I feel confident in saying the future for TUFC looks a lot brighter this morning than for a very long time.

RIP Paul Holmes
Very sad news. I saw Paul play for United at Wembley in 1989 losing to Bolton Wanderers and in 1991 when we beat Blackpool in the Penalty shoot out.
At the time I was not living in Devon but could not miss 2 trips to Wembley.

I agree Dave I think it is a done deal and hopefully contracts are being prepared for signature.
The NL AGM is on Thursday 20th June I believe 6 weeks from next Thurday 9th May so the hard work and due diligence is now behind us and its Green Light to go.
Fingers crossed.

I have it on very good authority that the Consortium Members are all lifelong supporters, very genuine guys with no egos and a committment to the future as a community club.
I know you might be thinking "almost too good to be true" but I trust my source and I do feel the future is bright.
On our 125th Birthday as a Football Club let us all try to look to the future in a positive and constructive manner.

There is an old saying "everything comes to he who waits"
I feel the News we await so anxiously will be sometime next week.

Taunton Town v Torquay United Tues 16 April KO 19.45.
Poor old Taunton. After beating us 3 -0 at Plainmoor on 12th March in surely our most inept performance of a bad season Taunton went on to play 12 games in 34 days losing 9 drawing 2 and winning 1 for 5 points out of a possible 36! No wonder they were relegated.
