Are you saying the Club spent a significant sum of money,on the Seale Hayne training ground, some say £200,000, without having a lease, in other words, with NO security of tenure.

If this is correct it goes to show the previous Board had zero business acumen.
That is exactly what was said. Deano said thay they (The new board/owners) could not believe that no lease was put into place to preserve our expenditure at Seale Hayne. They are working on getting something sorted out.

I would like to echo the thanks to Andy C. What a real shame, letting him go. Wish they could have found a place for him. He is 110% committed to TUFC. He did so much that, in the main, went unnoticed. He was brilliant at liasing with the fans, mainly because he is a fan himself and understood fans concerns. Thankyou Andrew.

I note, in Phil gulls post he says "Edwards will not sign players" Does that suggest that we are going to have loneies? Surley we dont have enough players, at the moment, to field a side?

Takeover 50/50 ?

Stevie is certainly passionate about all things TUFC. I would be more than happy to see him involved.

Chris Hargreaves services?

I think it all depends on the new owner/s. If they say they want a more experianced manager, then obviously CH will be gone, whatever the cost. Until we know the identity of the owners its all speculation, I guess.

Wish things would hurry up. I hate this being in "limbo". Just want to have something positive to cling onto.

Shame about big Duanne. Would have liked to have kept him. A really amiable fella and had potential. Wish him all the best for the future, both in his private life and on the football field.

Hope you are wrong about Toby & Ryan, Forever. People criticise Ryan (and Toby) but I think you are right. Where are we going to get a 20+ goalscorer from? We are a non-league side, after all. As for Toby. It will be a blow, IMHO, if we lose him. A talented player.

Stop moaning!!

Myself plus 2 others were 10 miles away from the Racecourse, Wrexham, ground last Sat. when we found out via Twitter that there was to be a pitch inspection at 13.30. Luckly the game was played, but the pitch was bloody awful. Puddles all over the place.

We didn't get our pants in a knot moaning about it. Unfortunately its a risk that you take, at this time of the year, when travelling to away games.

A while ago, 4 of us actually arrived and parked at Crewe only to find out that the game was off due to a frozen pitch. The same 4 got as far as the Telford turnoff before finding out that the FA cup game, against Stockport/Scunthorpe ? had been called off. It was the one that we ended up playing at Macclesfield when Benyon got a hat trick.

Because we didnt call Tuesdays game off until "late" is unfortunate, but could not be helped, IMHO.

Stop moaning!!

Absolutely spot on Westkent. "Fans" bemoane the way players perform, in games. If these players were better they would be playing for Manchester United (Bad example at the moment) or Chelsea or Barca, but they are not. They are playing for non-league Torquay United FC. They perform, I'm sure, to the best of their ability. Only 2 teams are going to be promoted, from the conference, that leaves 22 teams who are going to be disappointed. Sadly, I think we will be one of those teams. However, I dont come away, from each match, running the players/management down. I might pick out one or two who didnt have a good game, I might question CH team selection, but they are MY players and Chris is the manager of MY team. Come the next match, I am right there behind them, willing them on to victory. They are not going to win every match, CH is not going to get team tactics/selection correct, every week. They, players management, do what they think is right. If it fails to work so be it. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

If we make it to Wembley, I'll be there cheering them on. If we don't I'll be cheering them on anyway.

Stop moaning!!

I agree PR. The club have tried really hard in the last few weeks to try and get the town involved with TUFC.

I always find it really sad that Torquay does not try and promote TUFC. We are in the semi final of a cup competition, (With the possibility of a Wembley appearance) but the only way that you would know about it is if you are actually a TUFC supporter!!

It really does not help matters, that our own "supporters" are hell bent on running the club down. They should be defending everything that TUFC try and do.

Stop moaning!!

There are some (most) people on this forum who never stop moaning about the club.

If its not the "Mickey Mouse Trophy" it's how unprofessional the club are because they have had to postpone a game!!

What do, some of you want? Make sure we get knocked out of the FAT 1st round? Play league matches on a lottery of a pitch?

What the club needs, is for its supporters to get behind it, not put all of their engergy into slagging the club, the players, the board, the management, the pitch and the traing ground off.

We are a non-league football club not a premier league outfit. Get behind the team/management etc. and lets try and see if, this season, we can at least get to the final (And take the prize money that goes with it) of the "Mickey Mouse Trophy".

If not this season, then maybe next, we can try and push for promotion.

Please people, lets be nice to each other and our club.

Eastleigh v Torquay

Had a very nice experience at Eastleigh. Everyone polite (more than can be said of one or two of our fans, but wont go into that) and helpful. Good parking (Free!!) and good banter in the, "welcome all supporters", clubhouse.

A good win for TUFC, which I think in the end we probably deserved. Might have been a different story, though, if the Eastleigh strikers could shoot straight :)

Thanks for the heads up re. the book, back4more. There is a book that I would like to recommend to you. Its called "Where's Your Caravan" and was written by our now manager, Chris Hargreaves. Its about life in the lower leagues, from a personal as well as professional, perspective.

Enjoy the rest of your season, and good luck to your club.

Eastleigh v Torquay

I found everyone, from the car park attendants to the ladies in the club shop, really helpful a friendly. Could not have been nicer people. Had a bit of banter with the Eastleigh supporters in the 2nd half, but it was all amicable, as I said banter.

It was very easy to exit the free car park, at the end of the game, as they allowed each "line" to go in turn. One of the attendants told us the best way to go to get back onto the M27, and I didnt even ask him for directions!

It's a ground that I could quite easily go to, and watch my football, every other week. Good luck to them.

Can't remember, but do away goals count double, at any stage?
