I'm not too sure of my expectations for next season, but have a hunch that Ruairi Keating will get player of the season, Ruairi Keating will be young player of the season, Ruairi Keating will be top goalscorer, Ruairi Keating will get the most assists, and that he'll do all this without much support from Chaney or Lathrope. Just a hunch.

I Voted midtable pushing for playoffs. Not because I feel that is what we will achieve given our current financial backing, but what I would see as a success and a sign of moving forward as a club. minimum.

threelittle piglets/Tim Herbert can rail as much as they want but if it were left to the machinations of those at TQ1 the club would go to sleep now and only re-awaken in August......and God only knows what they would have been up to in that time.

We don't all have to sit on the same side of the room either; keep the debate loud, lively and long. Remind Clarke Osborne that this is no sleepy little dog track in Swindon or disused speedway circuit in Reading.

I thank Dave for his testimonial but I'm far too old to be boxing at my age ~ too old even to watch it if truth be told and I lost interest in doing that nearly twenty years ago. As he tells you; people can have (violently at times) differing views but should be capable of respecting their opponent as having the same intention of punching their weight as they have.

Three little piglets is either extremely naive, or is deliberately trying to discredit merse for ulterior motives (I actually think it is the latter). There is another thread on this forum devoted to the need of maintaining vigilance and that is Merse's most valuable contribution to the debate because he gets people talking about TUFC. The last thing we need now are rose tinted spectacles and happy clappers.
:goodpost: Totally agree with this and with Southampton Gull. Personally I think the stuff Merse has posted has been bloody good and he has my respect and thanks for helping bring more awareness and a bit of inside knowledge to the working of things. This forum has certainly woken up. I think a few people on here have been total dicks to him a few times, it is like they just dont want to hear it and would rather bury their head in the sand whilst idolising a failing regime at the club.

I find it easy to put myself in Merse's shoes, for obvious reasons, and it's not hard to spot when he's being devilish, condescending or just humorous. It's all of the above, it just depends on how you take it. I liken us to a couple of boxers who meet, have a scrap and end up respecting each other. I can't speak for him but that's how I feel. What I do know is that you'd have more time for his opinions if you spoke at length, even if you still disagreed with him. He does press those buttons though

You'll need to if you're going to substantiate your claim buddy.......

You'll notice then that only retained players remain on the payroll in National League football unless they can negotiate a renewal which commences paying them seamlessly.
Those 'under consideration' are therefore released and off the payroll as things stand from the final whistle of the North Ferriby game and perfectly free to pursue options elsewhere.
I don't know about Hancox, but I am of the understanding that Duke (and possibly Gerring too) had reason to believe they were being re-engaged subject to there being enough in the budget to re-engage them.....obviously this was not the case.

Perhaps this was one of the mistakes that Nicho was admitting to - his lack of experience when working with a budget and drawing up contracts.
