I was the assistant referee today with the Torquay defence and agree with the above, the gulls had to get in 2 college development guys on the bench.

As GLG says, we lost 1-0 to an 85th minute strike. The Aston Villa lad lost the ball cheaply in the middle, one pass split our defence and it was a nice finish for the winner.
Our keeper made a host of decent saves, mostly one on one. Rovers could have won 6-0, they were much better than us without being especially good.

Number 6 continued to be our best outfielder. It doesn't look especially promising as things stand, but it should be noted that our genuine prospects are all away on international duty, so probably not representative of the calibre of the present youth side.

Bristol Rovers got the winning goal right at the end of the game. Our Keeper made loads of good saves in the second half. Shame they couldn't hold out for the draw.

As I said Matt without the illegible players we look average.

I'm at the youth team game.

We're not very good.

Number 6, big , black centre back is miles better than anyone else, but that's about it. No pace to speak of from anyone, we've not had a shot yet (it's half time 0-0). Rovers are equally hopeless, they've had 10 shots, all straight at our keeper at backpass strength.

We need to retain the ball much better and start pressing further forward.

More to follow.

Matt.
