Stop dreaming. He couldn't get Luton out of the BSP with a far bigger budget than we can match so has zero chance of completing your scenario .........

I reckon he will be back if we drop into the BSP - he seemed to know what it takes to make a mark in that league.

Actually I always thought him a good manager but like everyone else was so p****d off when he let us down at Old Trafford.

He would have to get us out of the Conference a second time for me to forgive him that.

I think things have changed a bit now. After his rather awful time with Bristol Rovers, he'll have had his ego dented a little. If he were ever to rejoin us, I think we'd see a different person to the one we saw a couple of years ago. One who would realise where his bread was buttered.

Couldn't agree more, Bixie. It was always about him and we were just not big enough for his ego.

he's still a ****, a loathsome weasel of a man, never liked him as a player or a manager. altho obviously he did play a big part in our getting out of the conference, but couldve done much more without his pig headedness, huge ego and well documented disloyalty to our great little club!

the problem with buckle (the highlighted piece) was the way he went about it - thats the thing that p155es posters off on here................

It's unlikely I know, but if fate and circumstances ever bring Paul Buckle back to our club in the not too distant future, I for one would welcome him. He's older, wiser, and more experienced, and is an excellent manager. If he were to get us promotion to League One, or even higher, all should be forgiven. Whatever many fans may have thought of him in the past or of the circumstances of his move to Bristol Rovers, nobody is beyond redemption. So we've got Buckle's son in the youth team, his cousin/nephew (can't remember which) in the first team, all we need now is his mum working in the office and his brother on the board and we can have the full set!

That's correct forever, the young striker who started and scored for them on tuesday is the other one due to sign,

Professional academies do not run teams at U15 or U17 , U16 and U18 are mixed age groups 15/16-17/18. Buckle's lad is actually a U16 so coming to the age where he would be up for a youth team scholarship, I beleive he and one other are being signed up by the the club.

For a 15 year old to make it into an under 18 squad means the lad has more than ability.

I remember being 15 and playing against players of 18, they were bigger, stronger and had moustaches, hell some of them even had beards!

Good luck to the lad and I hope no one on here goes down the route of "visiting the sins of the father" . . . . . . . . .

Bucks was spotted in local Tesco last week and was asked if he would like the Torquay manager job again and he said "YES".

Good luck to his son and hope he gets a professional contract in the future.
