I'm sure there are plenty of guys here who play football (and I think also that Mini MidDevon has just taken a big step forward).
Could those of you who play the game give those of us who don't an insight into the role of captain and the difference that having the armband actually makes?

Matt.

I think the younger players such as Bodin and Thompson need one hell of a lot more verbal support from the captain than they are currently getting, will good to see someone else step up for 3 games and we can see if that makes a difference

Although Brian Saah will get it, I think Downes is perfect for the job of captain. He leads everyone on the pitch, but i dont think the captains armband can make a difference every player has a job to do besides worrying about who is temporary captain

Recent performances and lack of leadership on the pitch would indicate that a break could do Lee Mansell the world of good....but I did not expect him to go about it that way :-/

To be fair, I think I should add that I do not think the challenge was mallicious, just extremley poor timed and I am sure few people have any complaints about the red card.

I understand Brian Saah is "Club Captain" and wonder what are people's views on who should lead the team, in what is, quite an important 3 games for the club?
