Good thread, midfield being the current problem is how I see it aswell, Andy have to say I also agree with Rich on the front three, Rochdale home was the proof in the pudding, its the only game were I feel our midfield had total control up untill the sending off, Bodin and Howe scored 3 of the 4 goals.
I have listened to the Fleetwood and Vale games on the radio, the impression I got from both those games is the team were pretty much stuffed in terms of possession yet only 1 goal conceeded and 2 pts gained so fair play, to be honest I just could not be bothered to turn on the radio for Rotherham and listen to another 90 mins of the other team climbing all over us like a wet rash waiting and wondering when they were going to score.
And at home to be honest spent the last 30 mins stood on the pop hoping Cheltenham wouldn't score sadly they did, and spent the second half against Plymouth thanking the lord for Micheal Poke, there have a few opinions about our midfield put forward on the Rotherham match day thread.
One was Mansell is not getting forward as much due to Lathrope being injured, yep I get that, another was the current system being used was to bring the best out of Eunan O'kane to get him attacking more, the only thing to say to that is forget O'kane he has gone, and if it is the case that this formation was designed for O'kane then one answer must be when Lathrope is back in the team, put Nathan Craig in there, as he is about as close to Eunan as we have in the squad, however I don't think Morris has done a lot wrong so maybe a tad harsh on him.
To honest as said, I think it is to early to start pressing any panic buttons, we do still have key players out, it will interesting to how things do change in terms of the team performance, I know us fans like have a settled squad, and not trying fix every problem with a new loan signing, however if things don't change when we are batting with a fully fit squad, then I would suggest a couple of loan signings and not just bench warmers, prehaps a midfielder and a striker, not only would it give the squad a boost, it would also shake up a few who maybe under performing.
And before the normal suspects come forward shouting where is the money coming, Martin Ling has said a number of times money is availble for top up loan singings if they are needed.
