Bit before my time - started coming regularly in 1965. But I do remember attending Geoff Cox's testamonial game. Torquay spent most of the game trying to set him up for a goal- and failing to do so !

Eric Webber Dennis Penford Mervyn Gill Eddie Marsh Colin Bettany Geoff Cox. I guess a few of us remember these players from a very different era when Plainmoor was packed.

The most famous names in my old book are all Cricketers from the days when Torquay Cricket Club would host Festival Week in September.

Ken Barrington Fred Titmus Jim Parks Gary Sobers Ray Illingworth Brian Close to name but a few.
Proper footballers from a time when we were a proper football club. How we could do with a Dennis Penford or Colin Bettany in our defence right now.
Some pretty special cricketers listed there as well.

Thanks for the memories
