The F A Official

by portugull » 24 Feb 2019, 20:56

At the end of the Match yesterday a friend and I spoke to a guy sporting a Football Association Badge. We were curious.
It turned out he is employed by the FA to visit Clubs and report back on how the Club performed in terms of all that is required by the FA.
We commented on the rather unusual situation of the Referee being injured and what would have happened if no one had volunteered.
To be honest he was not sure but did say that a few years ago it could have resulted in an Abandonment unless a non qualified volunteer was acceptable to both clubs.
He was very pleasant to talk to but it is the first time I remember seeing such an official. Anyone know more on this subject.
Twice in 3 seasons I have sat next to the referees assessor which was very interesting.
